If I thought that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was good, Slumdog Millionaire was better. I consider it the best film of the year so far, and my other two friends who saw it with me on Friday night agreed with me that they didn't like the movie, but they loved it.
[[ Just a side note about Benjamin Button. I was really impressed by the acting there, now that IMDB revealed to me that Benjamin Button was played by other adult actors besides Brad Pitt, I am less impressed with the feat now, though he make up was very good. That doesn't mean you shouldn't see it, but watch Slumdog first. ]]
I will avoid spoilers, besides the main plot of the movie: A young man from Mumbai, India's slums is participating on the show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and knows all the right answers. Who he does it? It is all about his growing up, and of course there's love involved too.
Those who are well versed in Bollywood movies might spot the genre's cliches. I wasn't so I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the very nice cinematography (it all takes place in India). You should stay seated to watch the mandatory dance scene at the end of the film.
