Today is Wednesday and this is my last week at work, which means that I have about 3 days left at work. Not much to comment on besides wishing they would pass quickly and without a hassle. I really don't mind being back at work because I had an awesome Chinese New Year weekend...
On Saturday after work I had an audition. The only challenge I had then was to find the damn place, but I really hope something will come out of it, if only for something to do in February.
The rest of the time till Sunday afternoon was spent resting and watching TV. There are some new shows out that are interesting and the comic fan in my is full of glee for the new X-Men cartoon series (though it is a bit weird because they want to focus on Wolverine and they made him the leader of the new X-Men. Not Cyclops or Storm, but him. Well, okay).
Sunday was the eve of the Chinese New Year (yay for the year of the ox). I wanted to check out Chinatown and soak up some of the celebration. Luckily, I met with a girl I met at the JBC on Friday and her friends so we all had a really good time. We met for dinner, than walked around Chinatown (lots and lots of people) and then we went to the Esplanade area and there they had a stage set with dances and some acts so we stayed there till after the countdown. No fireworks this year unfortunately, but I still had a blast.
The next day we met to go to the beach. The destination originally was Sentosa, but there were lots and lots of people at VivoCity (the gateway to Sentosa) it became so ridiculous (there were huge queues all over the mall. Took me 5 minutes just to get out the MRT station itself!) so we've changed the destination to the East Coast Park. It was nice over there and we hung out there till the evening, when we met to meet some other friends at Max Brenner, the so coveted chocolate bar. Unfortunately, it was closed (foiled for the third time!) so we went for dinner instead.
Yesterday was a totally lazy day. I did nothing but laundry. So now at least I am well rested.
Two other thoughts:
- Another positive thing about loosing my job is that I am leaving my apartment soon. I don't have any specific companits about my roommates, but it's hard to have a communal kitchen. People just don't wash their dished afterwards. This morning there were no utensils at all.
- I am starting to fear that someone who has hired me to do a side project for her is now avoiding me. Aparently she is not too happy with the result, but it's her fault because I did exactly what she asked. Now I want to just get my money and finish up (especially now that I won't have a steady income).
