I think you have a wonderful sense here of what seems the only likely explanation of Sasuke returning. He is so focused on Itachi - always has been - that I can't see him returning to Konoha in any other way than with Itachi. (of course it could also be my love of Itachi, but it makes sense too!).

I like the slow burn of their relationship here too. It slowly builds and their underlying feelings come through.
