Well hello there good livejournal community. Holy crap, what is all this craziness about the LJ censorship and worries we'll shut down? Basically, child porno is wrong. But there's a First Amendment censorship issue. But I say we shouldn't even NEED to worry about these things, and as much as I love Harry Potter to a disgusting degree, no I can't say I believe we should keep the slash art if it will cause so much trouble.
Anywho. I'm at the office listening to the latest Michael Buble. Update: I do still work at ON (primarily certain weeknights closing, and Saturday morn openings) but I got an awesome job at CoD's McAninch Arts Center as a student aide (basically secretary) where I'm guaranteed 20 hours a week, more if my coworker cuts out more. It's awesome. I love the people, there's lots of downtime, and the dirty hard work I do is directly related to my hopeful profession (i.e. making performance arrangements, dealing with ticketing/concessions, doing projects for the admins in marketing, publicity). CoD obviously has the college theatre/music shows but we've got a regular professional season like Ravinia or the Paramount. I'm doing my DAMNEDEST to get them to book East Village Opera Company. So ummm if you want to perform pro, ha lemme know;).
I'm going to honestly try for the 100th time to get back onto my LJ. I'll need to vent, maybe. Justin will be at Roosevelt in the fall and while that's only in the city and I'll see him every weekend, it will still be a weird withdrawal. AND I'll be craking out 21 credit hours! GOSH. One online class (earth sci), and then Music Theory, Piano, Aural Skills, Chamber Singers, Math, World Religion, and an AWESOME dance theatre class which will all be musical theatre dance training. And I hear the teacher will do things like let us watch a big scene from a movie musical then teach it to us. Awwwww snap. This will also be my scary ass/exciting as eff transfer year complete with auditions! I'm looking at Roosevelt, Northwestern, Oberlin, University of Michigan...and some others maybe.
My ideal is Roosevelt then doing grad at Northwestern. University of Michigan is positively the best, but the school intimidates me. And I heart Northwestern so hard, but I really think it's better suited for grad school. And I was thinking Carnegie Mellon but I don't wanna go to Pennsylvania! Ah! The end on that matter.
I already think this is too long and no one will want to read it. Oh well I'm bored and everyone's in a meeting. I really really have to pee and I can't leave unless people get back. AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Oh yeah, this is very serious. If anyone here maybe likes Pride and Prejudice even just a little bit you are invited to the A&E BBC Pride and Prejudice mini-series party at my home this fall. Don't know when. And I know you probably hate it but really, it's really good onscreen. I'll even bribe you if I have to. And that's my random remark for the day.
TOODLES!
