Today may be the greatest day of my life. Just saying. I went the the Barack Obama Chicago Presidential Announcement Rally...Megan, Hannah and I made t-shirts. We had VIP tickets which meant we got to stand around the stage. Not ONLY were were on the floor we stood RIGHT where he came in from in the very front. I SHOOK BARACK OBAMA'S HAND. HE SAID HE LOVED MY SHIRT AND I MADE HIM LAUGH WHEN I TOLD HIM HE "BA-ROCKED MY WORLD!". HIS WIFE GAVE ME A HUG. Yeah, that is correct. Michelle Obama gave me a hug and said she also loved our shirts. SQUEALLLLLL!! haha I also got to MEET our Congresswoman, Jan Schakowsky, and take a picture with her. When I told her I wanted to work for her in DC in the Spring she asked me name and told me to contact her personally when I applied. OHEMGEE. To top it all off we got to hang out with Alexi Giannoulias (State Treasurer) since we worked for him last year and take a picture with him...in case you aren't aware the man is GORGEOUS. He stood there with his arm around me rubbing my back for a good few minutes and I almost died right there. THEN, as if it couldn't get any better, Megan, Hannah, and I got interviewed by a member of the press. Now as we found out it was the Christian Broadcasting Channel...but hey, it's still exciting!!!!!! They loved us as well.
On a slightly less personal note Obama's speech was phenomenal. I really do love that man.
Those anti-war protesters on the other hand needed to learn some effing respect. We're all on the same side, as Obama said, so just let the man speak. Sit down, shut up, and grow up. I hate people who go to rallies and protest their own party, protest the people who are really against you not the ones that want to work for you.
On the other hand, even they couldn't ruin what an amazing out of this world experience this day was. I love America, I love Democrats, and I LOVE Barack Obama. Obama in 2008 all the way!!!!
