That Pumpkin Spice Life

Sep 24, 2019 14:06

We're in it once more; the season of pumpkin pickin' and leaf peepin'. I'm ready to live that pumpkin spice life again!

So many changes right in the windshield! Matthew is interviewing right now for a job with a big, regional grocery store chain. I'm encouraging it. They are growing in an era of downsizing. I know that the managers for my aunt and uncle, who owned grocery stores as I was growing up, were contented people. I think that the job is sane, the hours are pretty good, and there is longevity in it. There's also room for promotion because of the size of the company. I like the idea. He was asked to stay to speak to a 2nd interviewer at an "all call," open interview situation that he found on Indeed for the store. That's a great sign. Holy cow, he could be working by next week! And that would be a GOOD thing for both of us. Mostly for him but it may also salvage our relationship....

We are facing a move. Again. My tenant is out by October 31st and we'll start to move in probably on that very day but if not, that weekend. Back to my first home...at least temporarily. I wonder if there will be enough room there? I've also decided to sell my place in Columbiana and, although I have loved it there, it's untenable to keep it because I've determined to stay at Mayfield for the foreseeable future. That's at least 10 years. It's too much to try to hold onto, keeping Columbiana. I'm spending a lot of money to maintain 2 places when really, the reasons I went there have all evaporated. I was going to kick off the truck and do the hybrid thing for a while...until my business really got off the ground. Then I realized the crazy work involved and felt exhausted all the time...and now I just want to stay where I am. That means consolidating everything into 1 home, not 3!

So even though I'm tired (really tired), I'm having a realtor over this evening and practicing my crepe-making skills on her in order to talk some business and to discuss listing Arrowhead Bay this week. Crazy how things can change.

So Kelli and I spent the weekend in Acadia National Park. We saw the sun rise in the first place it is visible in America and this past July, we saw the sun rise in the last place in the U.S. where it's visible: Hawaii. So that was quite a feat! It was a whirlwind weekend and I burned 2 personal days to do it but I regret NOTHING. It was wonderful, Kel says that I get to choose our next adventure and I will...I need to think about where I would like to go next. And I'll let her know. It's exciting...

The last class of the day will be here in a moment. I am happy. I feel wonderful.

Until we meet again...
