Ok, so Bones, season 5 eps3 and 4. The one in the suburbs, the one with the mummy. Hmm. Ok, let's go with the wines first, I liked them more.

Well for episode 3 End of summer--two of my favorite light summer reds from Sicily ( come on just a glass or so of each, the ep is not that bad) I know, not in my theme of using gazing at DB as an excuse to taste some new wines, true. But i like em, it's the end of summer, next year will be too late for these vintages, so let's enjoy em now. Two wines , diff grapes, one near the sea the other on top of a volcano, and yet they have a lot of notes in common. From sealevel, and from Planeta winery (great winery) -- Cerasuola della Vittoria made from Nero d'Avola, Calabrese and Frappato. Red fruit, and cherry, rose hips, but not at all heavy, nice acidity, lighta ruby color. Clean, fruity, simple but not boring, not a lot of alcohol. I like it in the summer just a little cool. Then from way high up on Mt Etna (2000-3000 ft above, in volcanic soil) another light fruity atypical Siclian red (I hate those overly sweet, overlly alcoholic southern wines) . The winery is Tenuta della Terre Nere (Farm of the black soil) and the grape is mostly Nerello Mascalese. Lots of red berry like raspberry in the nose with an earthy quality too it, reminds you of Pinot Noir. (well a simple yet well made Burgundy) I like the entry level (er. Cheaper) one the best. Doesn't taste so “worked on ”

Episode 3, what can I say. We are still getting dumb Booth here, and can't quite see why the writers thought that this guy would be as attractive to us as the character they made us love in the beginning. No girlfriend, pining away blah blah, even his kid comments on it,  just don't buy it.... I mean have they seen him? Also, I've been meaning to ask, what in the world is going on with his lower lip? Looks like he's got a wad of chewing tobacco in there all the time...Still, plus side, Bones not completely irritating (although still not worthy of all this moon-y lovesickness) and the phrase Casanova Gardner Boy....... um well, can I get one if I don't have a garden?

Ok, well Episode 4, with the mummy , and  brings us more kinda emasculated, please don't reveal the secret of my mom's meatloaf to my boss, Booth. I'm not sure, are we supposed to appreciate the role reversal? She's, I guess the guy, quite willing to hop in the sack with his boss ,even though we are supposed to believe they are so deep down in love, while he kinda pines away looking sad for her. Seely Booth please come home.........we miss ya, Still as always a lot of help from the great supporting characters, Daisy cracks me up sorry i can't help it.And funnily enough, I really liked geeky scientist all excited about her work Brennan, but the last scene where they almost kiss didn't make any sense in the context of an episode where she is quite happily dating some other guy for the sex while not understanding while it might be a problem for the guy we are supposed to believe she is suppressing love feelings for. And it kinda made me do that brrh, ick, shudder thing.

Um is there somewhere we can start a petition to have SMG be his love interest in season 6?

Ooh Ooh, theChablis was great though. 2005 Premier Cru Fourchaume from Jean Claude Bessin. Yum and again Yum Crisp fruit like pear or some melon, just enough limestone to make it interesting and minerally. Lovely citrus and perfect acidity. Definately a Chablis but not as tough as some of them can be. Delicate and Elegant. Loved it. Made my mouth do the happy . Gonna grab the last bottle at the shop , it's definately to drink now, next year or maybe 6 months might be to late, and it would be a shame to let this one die. And not so bad on the price either, all things considered. .

And now, back to the BTVS S1 rewatch..

bones catchup, wine
