Well, I can't find any video to link to, but after days of promising to go, seems like Berlusconi, might actually be going.... I hear from my friends back hom there are bands in front of the Quirinale playing Hallelujah

hasn't the guy left yet? I find it reprehensible that he is a billionaire and is leaving the country in financial ruin.
Good riddance to him. I hope Italy recovers. It appears to me that all of the countries who are in financial strife all have socialist govts. They pander to their people, giving them what they want and not what they need.
Any mismanagement of govt, socialist or otherwise, should be made public, and then maybe something can be done.
And this guy, what with the scandals surrounding him should have departed long ago.
well, if you really want to insult the old guy, call him a socialist. He's kind of apolitical, although his allies are fascist, right, centerright whatever. He's all about what can I do to milk this country some more to make more money.. he changed laws to make it possible for him to pay less taxes and let his companies do what they wanted -- of course other industries as well profited by it. It's so complicated, I think even some people who despise him secretly admire him for getting a way with it all, and his long reign their has left people with this, well, we can't do anything about it so why try attitude. He's ruined a lot about Italy and, and pulled them back in the the early 70's, and made some of their worst characteristics more prominent. It's going to be work changing attitudes and moving things forward. But at this this is a first step...
About time. Berlusconi reminds me so much of the breed of Irish "politicians" that led us on the road to financial ruin. Greedy and narcissistic. But the thing is, we voted them in so I feel there is a element of shame among the electorate to go along with the anger and outrage too. Hopefully, this political and financial strife will make way for new day in European politics.

So, this guy has facist friends and has lined his pocket by bending and changing the rules.
And people stood by and let him? I mean govt people and people in the know.
It's sad isn't it when ordinary people suffer because of greed.
