When Naruto woke up that morning, he couldn't resist the strange feeling that came over him. It was almost... gloomy, maybe even borderline-depressive, and it made him wonder if he really wanted to get out of bed. Yes, he did promise Sakura he would go on some shopping adventure or another, but he felt almost... dead in a way.
But like the self-proclaimed genius persona he had built would do, he decided to roll over until he fell out of bed. Unfortunately, it was at his moment of half-bedded/half-floored-ness that a gray hand decided to punch through his window, shattering the glass and happily embedding shards into his back.
"Holy...! Ouch!" The first thought that came to him was some over-eager anti-Kyuubi protester had decided to leave him a lovely wake-up call, but a closer look at those blackened nails, rotting fingers, and peeling skin made him reconsider.
"...Is that you, Sakura?" he said incredulously

Oh heck, just as I finished typing it up and looked over the comments, I saw the other applicant;;
