Musing.

I've been thinking lately, and I truly believe one of the really freeing things about losing my faith is that I am not required to forgive and forget or love everyone.

Now this is me, personally, Cat Hicks, quasi-atheist with a thick stripe of agnostic down the middle. Your mileage may vary. But for some reason I just realised very recently that I don't have to forgive everyone. And to me, it makes it more special, more important, more sincere when I do forgive. I'm not just forgiving you because I was raised to forgive everyone of everything, I'm forgiving you because you're someone I love and this one thing you've done doesn't outweigh the myriad reasons I care about you.

So yeah, there's that.

religion, ramblings, atheism
