My dear, generous spouse is sending me to Columbus, Ohio. In other circles, this might be seen as a rather bizarre punishment of some sort. But you know what I'm really talking about, eh?
Beckett is sending me, courtesy of some income she's made from Etsy, and I've managed to get a 3-day weekend off from work, despite the crazy hours we're in now.
So, I will be at OVFF for the first time since 2006, when I was the Toastmaster. I'm looking greatly forward to it. The guests are all people I love to hear (TJ & Mitch), want to hear (Bedlam Bards), or all the above plus am good friends with and don't see nearly enough of (UT and Kathleen). And I'm nominated for a Pegasus.
I'm going to throw out an idea here: I'm inviting everyone to leave a comment with one or more songs you'd like to hear somebody sing at OVFF. Not just for me (although that's fine too); for any performer who might be there. Say the song and performer you're requesting. I thought it might be a fun way to give people a chance to pull out a couple of things and polish them a bit before the con. I'll collect them all into a later entry, for everyone's reference, in a couple of weeks.
I'll start:
The song about the women competing over a guy at RenFaire -- Urban Tapestry
Conquest -- Ookla
Buffalo, CA -- Ookla
Spiral Dance -- Kathleen Sloan
I Don't Do Dylan -- Mitchell Burnside Clapp
Wishful Thinking -- TJ Burnside Clapp
The Acolytes of the Machine -- Mary Crowell
Dump Stat -- Mary Crowell
