The grumbling boar sits on the floor
And glares at all in sight
Yet when the fire water flows
He'll talk for half the night
The gangly heron stands and stares
If startled, he'll take flight
But when the crawfish snaps its claws
He'll be the first to strike
The ancient cat sits quietly
His face serene and wise
Look closely, though, and you will see
There's mischief in his eyes
The wild wolf lets out a howl
He's spoiling for a fight
Still, earn his trust and you will find
He'll guard you with his life
The tiger prowls among the trees
Alone, sure of her might
Despite this, if you dare approach
She'll greet you with delight
A rough hide may conceal soft flesh
Meekness may hide true strength
A first impression's only that:
For truth, observe at length.
