Who can focus on Japanese grammar when the BBC put out their Christmas scheduling press release?
Everyone but this sad fangirl probably :P
Here's the full
link but I'll just highlight what's Relevant to my Interests:
The Top Gear special in which they go to Vietnam.
--Hooray!! A full length adventure film again! Here's to hoping it's as splendiforous as America, Africa and the Polar adventure. I'm hoping rather ALOT since I haven't laughed nearly as much at the show since I've ceased to be on the catch-up and become a weekly viewer with all the anticipation and disappointments that entails.
Blackadder also returns for a one-off documentary - Blackadder Rides Again will include the first ever in-depth interview with Rowan Atkinson, on his personal experience of playing Edmund Blackadder and being involved in the show. There will also be interviews with other members of the cast and writers including: Stephen Fry, Tony Robinson, Ben Elton, Hugh Laurie, Richard Curtis, Miranda Richardson and Tim McInnerny. Eh? Documentary? There are already like three of these - and I've seen them all so I don't know what new content they can generate from this. Still. Curiosity and cats and what all - I've got to watch the boys talking about their show.
A very special edition of Doctor Who - no need for me to say much here - obviously anticipating it. But very fatalistically certain it will be a bit crap.
Wallace And Gromit return to the small screen with a special new adventure for BBC One, A Matter Of Loaf and Death -- Eee! Love the quintessential britishness of W&G but haven't been following their production so this is complete and delightful surprise.
Alan Davies reprises his role as Jonathan Creek with an exciting new mystery to solve ------ investigating unexplained events inside a gloomy old attic known as "The Nightmare Room". Sheridan Smith guest stars and Stuart Milligan returns as illusionist, Adam Klaus. --Doubble Eee! Love Love Love Alan as an actor, love the premise of the show, love the fact that we're getting New! Jonathan Creek (even though already knew this was coming months ago, still get all bubbly and happy inside thinking about it) And Sheridan Smith! She plays Lucy in the New Audio Eighth Doctor Adventures. ONE degree of separation from Paul McGann, y'all!
Rupert Penry Jones stars in gripping drama The 39 Steps. Based on the classic novel by Scottish author John Buchan, and set in the build up to the First World War, it's a roller coaster action adventure, full of excitement, danger, fun and romance.
----I've never even heard of this but am so willing to be generously excited about this because, hello? Rupert roxors and so does WWI.I watched a Huuuge doco series on WWI a weekend or so ago. It was even slightly Relevant To My Studies in JRR Tolkien. But only just.
AndAndAnd! Even though the press release Fails To Mention It...There will be a Christmas episode of QI as well.
Yaaaay double dose of Alan and Stephen! Yaay!
