left the dorm for Japanese class with yarn stowed in HP messenger bag, biked merrily along.
yarn fell out of bag about halfway along the length of McFadden dorm - i continued biking, oblivious.
I only noticed a slight tug 40 yards later. I turn around and hold up the offending piece of string.
A passing biker drives into it and carries it along, the tensed yarn trips two people before the innocent biker stops and we untangle him and his pedestrians. The I start heading back along the street, picking up hand-fulls of yarn as I walk, and then, a bus ran over my yarn.
I kept rolling the yarn up in my hand, I had no idea how far back it went - the ball could have still been back in my room for all I could see! But thankfully there it was on the sidewalk after I had collected two bursting hand-fulls of stray yarn.
I picked up my squishy center-pull ball of hunter green mournfully. Now I'd have to re-wrap it.
It's rather fortunate the bus didn't catch on my yarn. I don't think could have stopped the bus before it got onto University Street. And what would I have said to the driver?!
"Please stop! My knitting is tangled up in your wheel-well!"
