HOBBIT FIRST WATCH THOUGHTS

Everyone talks about how amazing riddles in the dark was (OH GOD IT WAS) but kindness staying bilbo's hand!!! OH MY GOD THAT WAS DONE WELL.
"Good Morning" - every time there was a word for word line I make little happy claps.
The iclandic ponies horses were so delightfully SCRUFFY <3333333333
Bilbo stabbing SO MANY THINGS before we even get to the spiders
Bilbo saying it'sll be easy going from here on out ahahahah or poor bb
THAT GLIMPSE OF SMAUG. Ooooooooh.
The escape sequence in the tunnels/bridges under the misty mountains was such a pleasing followable action sequence!

I *died* when elrond said 'GONDOLIN' and omg did you see how thorin's sword has a elven house crest on the pommel??? How did I not parse from all the pre-premier material that it was and elven blade by the SHAPE. HOW DID THIS NEVER PROCESS.
Gandalf got to do SO MUCH MORE MAGIC. Omg I love that the firey pinecones were still in. And he lit his pipe! And he cracked a lot of rocks! And the magic G on bilbo's door! And he did the BIG DARK VOICE again! So much overt magiccccccc *_____*
Was that sword that the elves brought back after thier raid, was that a HAND like a WHITE HAND? on the pommel???

The wargs were SO much better done, cgi-wise.
The villains WERE so very children's book villains. omg did you SEE how the white orc had his prostetic hand attatched? it was RAMMED THROUGH his arm stump. sdkljflsdjfl
You can TELL it was made from a children's book but THAT IS NOT A BAD THING. It is charminggg.
what was up with how the orcs would PAUSE DRAMATICALLY and deliver their dialoge really clearly and slowly???
the white council did not have the coolness and urgency and PATHOS and evocation of feeling that I was hoping for. although GODDAM THAT MORGUL BLADE. FUCK FUCK FUCKKKKKKKKKKKK.
the stone giants were...the watcher in the water of this film. WHY PETER. WHY.
the prologue and the oakenshield flashback - I KNOW peter fran and phillipa had to have written a gabillion version of those and I>...do not think that these were the BEST versions. Really want to see what the extended editions get
OH! and how unexpected was my love of the end song? I thought it was maaaaajorly not-what-i-wanted when I heard it on the soundtrack stream but it WORKED in context. It really WORKED! Brilliant. .
I like thorrin SO MUCH. I am going to bawl and BAWL in film three.
