You guys, I've started filling out this meme in my sleep. Literally, this one's from a dream I had about responding to this meme! Here it is, with some amendments so that it makes sense to an awake mind:
I think this is another great concept you have here. I think you're right that it wouldn't last long on US network TV, partly because if its idiosyncracies and partly for that bittersweet feel it seems to have - life and death and the choices we make and all that sort of stuff, that can take a viewer out of their comfort zone, but isn't that sometimes a good thing? It's the sort of thing I'd come across, and greatly enjoy while it lasted, and then be saddened that I'd never know how the story ended.
This meme has actually been just what I've needed... I haven't really had much of a creative outlet since I started grad school in September. I used to draw webcomics but I've had to stop because I don't have the time anymore, so about the only way I've had to drain my creative juices is by designing weird Martian animals on my DeviantArt account... and then HELLO AWESOME MEME. INSTANT ADDICTION.
I will get at least one of those Mammoth Season episodes done before I do another one of these, I swear I will...
It is a great meme, and seems to have inspired so many people to come up with excellent story ideas. I've been a bit of a failure so far in turning my prompts around - I've only really done three quarters of a one so far, but that' partly down to the fact that I've been spending so much time reading everybody else's stuff! :D
