Things That Make Me Insane Right This Minute
If you cannot control your children in an establishment, that establishment should have the right to ask you to leave. I'm thinking mainly about Best Buy today, but I'm also thinking seriously about movie theaters. Where I work at the store, I sit in an employees only area behind customer service and the Geek Squad counter. We keep all the computers being worked on, waiting to be picked up, some random supplies, etc back there. For a full 20 minutes I sat and listened to these three kids in line with their mom as they shrieked and whined and, at times, cried on purpose. The mother told them to stop, get back here, don't do that, NEVER EVER gave them a consequence. When I finally saw them, the kids were between probably 3 and 6 years old- PLEANTY old enough to know what they were doing. And why did I see them? Because they were darting back and forth through the plastic curtain and into the employees only area. They did this maybe 12 times, easily, still no consequences. Finally, when two of the boys ran back, the older one tried to climb up a set of rolling stairs that didn't have the breaks on. I jumped out of my chair and told him, very simply, to get down, it wasn't safe, and he wasn't supposed to be back there. Stunned, he went back out to the line, but the younger boy kept going past me. I took him by the hand and told him, AGAIN, they were not supposed to be back there and they had to get back to their mother, who was of course walking away by now with no idea what the kids were doing, using the classic "Bye, I'm leaving" tactic that doesn't work if there are NO CONSEQUENCES! ARGH!
$2.36 a gallon?! And does the president's new energy proposal have anything about finding fuel alternatives or lowering prices? Of course not.
Our president, and the fact that he cannot open his mouth without sounding like a condecending, patronizing ass. Also, the sneer has to go. Appologies to my republican friends.
A heat index of WHAT now?
Reality TV, especially subclass "reality shows about celebraties no one cares about". "Hogan Knows Best"? "Being Bobby Brown"? "Tommy Lee Goes to College"? "Venus and Serena: For Real"?
The fact that, on my daily commute, people drive 5 miles an hour under the speed limit. In the left hand lane.
Also, why does my breezeway always smell like pee?
And why can't I catch my cats in the act of opening my dresser drawers?? How, HOW, are they doing that?!
