[The PCD clicks on as they sometimes do, although you probably wish it hasn't, because it shows Kurotsuchi and Jotaro hard at work in the scientist's lab. Cutting something up. Something big. Something that might have been a jaguar before they started meticulously taking it apart. Currently they appear to be examining the spinal column, poking long needles between vertebrae. Jotaro looks cold and focused, disgusting job at hand and all, but Kurotsuchi - well, he looks miffed.]
It doesn't matter how fresh it was, it's still dead. There's nothing new I can learn from this.
[The shinigami turns away with a show of dissatisfaction, putting his tools down with a rather sharper clang. He clearly doesn't want any more to do with this.]
No. [Jotaro's voice is flat and cold and absolute.] No cutting up live animals. I won't say it again. [He glances back at Kurotsuchi.] We're getting nothing anyway. This isn't the right track.
It's not the right track because it's not alive. [Kurotsuchi gives a disgusted sigh.] Results require better materials. Living materials. I've told you that from the start.
What's required is looking at the cause not the symptoms. [That said, Jotaro falls very quiet for a while. Stone-still, even. He looks like he's thinking very deeply, and finally he reaches a conclusion.] All right. Let's stop joking around. Go ahead and poke at my brain. [He sounds rather surprisingly casual.] Just remember, you screw me up and you're short a partner.
[At that, the scientist pauses, glancing back at Jotaro, but he doesn't reply until after he's picked a scalpel up again. He's not going to ask him if he's sure.] You should have more faith in my abilities than that.
It's not your abilities I'm worried about. [But he's already taking his hat and jacket off.] Use local anesthetic if you're cutting anything - can't promise I can control Star Platinum if there's too much pain. And make sure the PCDs are off. [He nods at the table where, coincidentally, the PCD is not off at all.]
I'm already familiar with your monster. [Blade in hand, he waves off those concerns, but does move out of sight, presumably to fetch an anesthetic.] Don't you have better control of it by now? Really -- [On the way back, Kurotsuchi distractedly shuts the PCD 'off'- though only the video feed is cut. There's a loud clatter of what's probably the device being tossed out of the way, and any conversation is muffled by wherever the PCD landed. But in a few moments there's a distant, wet thump of something landing on metal- possibly a unceremoniously displaced cat.
A few cracks. A low, mechanical hum. The sound of drilling. Eventually silence, as the audio abruptly times out.]
i do know what i'm doing,
knowledge means victory,
fun times with mayuri,
fuck yeah science,
event: welcome to the jungle,
this can not end well
