[Desolation. Just a couple of days ago, the place where Jotaro is now standing was a lovely golden beach, sun and sand and water. Hm. Depends on whether the environment was transported here or spontaneously generated. An ocean's simple, life's complex. Even if it was miles of sea transported, that's still a drastic change from the size of a proper ocean - enough to mess with any number of species on the chain. Spontaneously generated... not going to go there.

That there aren't any changes in the city, just changes in how we perceive it. Not a bad theory. Occam's Razor.

The guy called Kurotsuchi I mentioned says he's got some expertise as a neurologist. My work's been on animals, but I know the basics. We'll see how that goes.
