Adventure 37: Fading stars
[The feed clicks on, showing Jotaro sitting on the floor by his mother's bed. Holly is still unconscious, sickly pale, breathing heavily. He glances up at her, then into the PCD, opens his mouth as though to say something, then closes it. He stays silent for a long minute before finally talking, very quietly.]
You can't help, you said.
[It's not an accusation - rather, as he says that, his eyes narrow in what might be a revelation. As the feed clicks off his look is of painful resolve.]
I might be gone for a while.
Take care of Mom.
You still want me? You can have me.
My mother's dying. Our powers are the same, but hers is killing her. I know you can find a way to remove or block it, so use me to find one. Cut me up all you damn well want, I don't care, just find a way.
I know where you are and I'm coming there. I won't fight you. But I won't take no for an answer.

Jojo won't answer any comments. He's left his PCD on his bedside table, along with a neat page of instructions about how to take care of the animals, a folded note for Holly's eyes only, and his hat (for Ollie). He won't be back for a while... so if anyone reads the note to Holly after she disappears, comment or PM me or something and I'll give you the text.
