No poo.
I'm done with shampoo, hopefully forever. I found the "no poo" meathod online a little while back and decided that I wanted to try it. Part of it was people getting used to washing their hair less. It talked about hair being oily or itchy for the first month while your scalp gets used to creating it's normal amount of oil again, but then things get better.
Since I was my hair once a week anyhow (and have been for years) I don't think I have to go through that transition phase. I figured I could jump right in. So I did today.
Basically the idea is that you use a tablespoon of baking soda to wash your hair. The baking soda sucks the oil and nastiness out of your head without completely drying out your head like shampoo does. Also shampoo is filled with chemicals and artificial fragrences that I don't want on my head. Then every once in a while you can rinse your hair with vinegar to condition it. I don't know what it does chemically, but it is supposed to be good.
I did this today and my hair feels good. It feels clean without being all dried out and "frizzy". It still has weight and falls into place instead of floating around my head like a dehydrated tumbleweed. I think I will like no poo. No poo and I will be friends.
It is 1am on MLK day and I have to be at work in 9 hours. This is pretty stupid, I was supposed to have the day off, but I need to go in for 4 hours to do office catch up work. I guess this is good and I understand why I am going in. Plus I am getting paid extra for going in extra. I just really feel like sleeping in and then finding some MLK day thing to do. Instead tomorrow I'll go to work, rush to run some errands that I neglected the past few days and then zip over to the MLK day bike race at Hart Plaza where I am going to freeze so bad. Hopefully I'll have some good bike punx times though.
If it is really cool, I'm sure I will report about it here because I'm a creey reclusive misanthrope who chose a career working with people.
When I wasn't boring, it was a lot easier to insult people that were. Now that I'm boring, all I am is bored.
