Could you summarize for me in a few words what's going on currently? I gathered Itachi is back from the dead, with the good guys, and has just ran into Sasuke, and to stimulate the latter Madara needs Naruto? :D

LOOOL, I've been wondering the same thing. I don't actually read all that attentively either. I just look at the pictures, and it goes this way: boring, boring, boring, ITAAAAACHI!, boring, ITACHI MEETS SASUKE, boring, boring, CAN WE HAVE MORE ITACHI PLS? XDDD So I'm not the best person to ask about the current happenings, but you've already summarized it pretty well.
Oh, and there are two Madaras: the old pretty one who's dead and currently fighting Tsunade, and Tobi who's fighting Naruto, I think. And Naruto's making friends with all the tailed beasts))))) Don't ask just what Kishi is smoking again...

Ok, I just have to ask: is this Drusilsuke really THIS crazy in canon? I haven't read the manga for a while but I feel like I should. XPP Boy, you weren't joking. This is Whedonesque.

I enjoyed the increasing creepiness of it and the sense that they're both so tired they're just going through the motions every time. Traditionally Sasuke should also deliver a looong soliloquy since he's technically the villain of the piece. XPP

Well... check chapter 574 (or 575, not sure) where he's talking to Zetsu. He does seem pretty insane there))) He's like: Oh, I've been wandering these empty streets this boulevard of broken dreams, wussup? Zetsu: War, dude. Sasuke: Cool! Zetsu: Gotta get them all! Killer Bee and Naruto. Sasuke: Naruto? I think I'll, like, kill him or smth. Because I have these new eyes!
Then a few chapters later Sasuke meets Itachi and goes to play tag with him. He's like: Explain! Explain! [/Dalek voice] Itachi: Later, gotta kill Kabuto. Sasuke: WHY am I never your priority??? Itachi: Whatevz, there's war. Kabuto: Kill me, don't kill me, who cares? Sasuke: *looms* Itachi: Shit happens. In fact, it's happeing right here, right now. [/cliffhanger of doom]

The way I see it he had all the makings of a happy maniac due to Orochimaru's and Madara's influence, but this latest meeting with Itachi took some of the fun out of it)))
It's like my curse: ask me to write something and I'll write you angst)))
I don't worry about anything except how long this stupid war arc is going to continue))) Naruto is awesome in all modes even if the latest is kind of destructive. XDDD
