Loved it! <3333 so canonic and somewhat bitter and touching!.. *__* and the last line! hell, I never noticed that before!
I also can't see them get together in the end, just because they don't)) too stubborn, too different and God knows what else 'too'... too bad for them, but we still have a zillion of reasons to write their hot mindfuck XDDD

You know... I found a post yesterday, which rec'd some comic books, and I hunted down some issues after that)) There are actually moments when these two work together (f.ex. Erik "repents" a few times). There's even a moment in some of the comics I haven't read (but Wiki told me))) when Erik somehow makes Charles able to walk again. And they do pull each other out of many comas))) Technically all that is non-canon for the movie, but there's still a possibility. XDDD
I'm super-super-super happy you read this. :))))

hmm, my knowledge of the X-men universe is limited to the animated series (which seemed to have been adapted for children), so I never thought of them as 'frenemies' before XDD you know how they tend to simplify everything up to the relationship between the characters D: especially if they need an ultimate villain =_=

Yeah, cartoons are evil, they tend to tone down the slassssh)) Tbh I've never been a particular fan of X-Men, though I've seen the movies and some random eps of animated series. But the UST in the movies was obvious even though Erik and Charles were already old geezers)) Have you seen X-Men 3: The Last Stand? While I'm not too big on that movie in general, there's a terrific scene there when Charles gets killed during some big fight between his men and Magneto's, and Magneto is like: NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!111 Smn later asks him why he hasn't killed Charles himself, after all they're like enemies)) Erik goes: You moron, Charles Xavier has done more for mutants than you can imagine; my only regret is that he had to die for our dream to live! XDDDD

“All this time,” Charles responds in kind, “and you still haven’t used it against me.”
Oh boys. This was so beautifully sad. I loved it! ♥
