A goodbye letter to Naruto

Nov 08, 2014 12:25

Well, maybe not exactly a letter, but you know. 15 years, wow. And I was reading it for at least half that time, on and off. As little as I cared for it lately (the manga, not the character; Naruto himself will always be among my top favourite characters ever), I can't deny the impact this story has had on me. So, I guess, thank you, Kishi. ( Read more... )

Pretty much my thoughts on this.

Oh man...

It's over. And now I want fanfiction to correct the ending. Heh. Because let's face it - the pairings are not exactly what I would like to see in this, but okay. It had to end, and some boy's little fantasy needed encouragement.

Anyhow.

It's over, and it's been a long freaking 15 years of my life.

*hugs*

Thank you for sharing them with me <3

I don't even feel the need to correct the ending bc I'm simply denying its relevance XD Some boy's fantasy is always the Japanese problem; what about girls' fantasies? Do they think every girl wants to wait for some jerkwad for, like, ten years and become a housewife in a home where he's also constantly absent? Nice one, Kishi.
*hugs back* <333 Aside from that, Naruto himself is glorious and hey, he got everything he wanted! Yay for him! <3

My personal opinion, excuse the wording: chapter 700 is the most anticlimactic shit I've seen since "Claymore" ended.

I haven't read Claymore but I agree re: anticlimatic. Add illogical, sexist and stupid XD

Claymore started good, ended not so much. Although Naruto still beats it here, on the second thought.

You forgot cheesy and sappy in your least. Like a badly written TV drama.

Aww, Naruto. <33333 It feels weird... This series was so important to me for three years of my life, but hearing now that its ended somehow doesn't make me feel anything. I always assumed that it would, I guess, because it was really, truly so important and so vital to those three years. I'm not sure how to feel about this not feeling! :((((

But this makes me really happy: Sasuke smiling, laughing and bickering with Naruto when they were both on the verge of dying was bittersweet, funny, cute and all kinds of fanfic-awesome

Thanks for this reflection and overview, bb. <3333 End of an era.

Ouch, sorry for the late reply >_<
I felt... idk, relief (bc it's been too long in the making, this ending) and then whatever I managed to convey in this post XD Hopefully, I will eventually unsee the horrors of the final chapter and pretend the manga has an open ending XD
