I had decided to post only fandom-y reaction posts here, but Being Human people are apparently a fandom on their own, so here it goes: a reaction post to the show about Tom McNair traipsing around Wonderland.
I was pretty patient with OUaT until I just kinda stopped watching it regularly mid-season 2 and since then I've had a much harder time getting back into it. Suddenly everything seemed worse and started bothering me more. They just put the whole second season on Netflix here though, so I'm still thinking that I might try to catch up.
Wikipedia link to 1985 TV adaption. I watched it when it aired as a kid. We taped it and my sisters and I watched it repeatedly until the VHS cassette started to wear out. I still get the songs from this stupid thing stuck in my head at times. It's terrible (and excellent. But probably actually just terrible).
re: The Red Queen I think you're right. If she was a better actress I wouldn't take issue or necessarily even notice her age, and it would be an interesting counter to Alice. Right now I think I'm kind of itching for her to get tossed out of that castle by Jafar or something, even if just so that she'll end up a little unkempt and less stiff and polished.
re: Snow and Charming We didn't see them bickering and whatnot in the Once pilot though, did we? I can't remember. I think that came a few episodes later. And even without knowing that yet, they had far more chemistry/spark than these two. I'm assuming we're going to get flashbacks similar to OUaT with this show, so maybe in those they'll be less bland and we can blame it on the condensed 'highlight reel' nature of the relationship in the pilot, but I'm not hopeful.
Hmm, no, I think I've confused this one with a different show. But I have heard about it. I think we were supposed to watch it at uni a few years ago, but I cut that class. Right now I think I'm kind of itching for her to get tossed out of that castle by Jafar or something, even if just so that she'll end up a little unkempt and less stiff and polished. Hahaha, yes please! I don't know, they could have just cast Paris Hilton if they wanted someone blond and shallow-looking. But Paris Hilton can actually act sometimes. Oh, right, I was referring to 1x03 (I think) that tells the story of how Snow and Charming met. Before that I hadn't thought about them much b/c it was such a canonically fairy tale pairing. I'm sure we'll get flashbacks. We even got them in the pilot already. But yeah, not much hope there. Anyhow, we have Michael. ;) Let's focus on the positive... until he falls in love with Alice. >_
