Oh I am so torn between cheering for a new chapter, and crying because this is the last chapter. Either way, it was a wonderful way for things to finish up.

I do like the fact that Cutler got to have his cake and eat it. (Leader of the vampires and he gets Hal.) It was good to see Cutler on his own, finally having to make some tough choices. The whole arc of Cutler coming to terms with his relationship with Hal, or being Hal-less, has been so well done that it could have felt like cheating to let him have Hal back at the end. But in this case it just felt right. Just because he knows how badly he's screwed doesn't mean he isn't screwed. (No pun intended! LOL)

I know I can rely on you not to pull any punches, and there was a pleasingly realistic number of dead bodies this time around. Although I'm glad that Alex and Hal weren't among them. :) Alex really rocked during this whole story, and the latest chapter was no exception. The scene in the sex shop was pure genius. I half expected she was going to do something unpleasant to Cutler with a vibrator! XD And "Objection overruled" was probably my favourite line. :)

Thank you for writing this. Thank you for keeping me going through the traumas of series 5. (I've made it through precisely 20 mins of my series re-watch so far. LOL) But now I'm really intrigued by how Rook and Cutler's brave new world will turn out. So many possibilities ... *tries to plant the idea of a sequel*

Thank you for sticking around! <333 Heh, it's been 2,5 months, but it feels like I was writing this for years. XDDDD
Also, thank you for giving me the push to write this. XD I started it right after I read Zero Sum Game and decided that Cutler should have nice things at least once. Though tbh, I can only imagine what a spectacular fuck-up a world with Cutler and Rook at the helm can be! XD
I love Alex. The finale might have tarnished her halo a bit, but she still remains one of the best characters in this show. It was a pleasure writing her, and I have to confess I even shipped her with Cutler a bit in this last chapter. XDDDD I think that under different circumstances they'd make a hilariously dorky pair of friends. XD
I've made it through precisely 20 mins of my series re-watch so far. LOL You're a hero. I rewatched one scene from 5x02 yesterday, and my brain withered. >_<
I wonder if anyone ever believed for at least a moment that Hal was truly dead? I tried, but... XDDD
I thought Cutler getting Hal back in the end (in a holding cell, no less) was both a nice reference to their first meeting and the testament to how their balance shifted. Cutler is more in control now (cue Rook pretty much giving him the last remaining Old One and being like: you decide what to do with that), but it doesn't mean he's over Hal. ;))) He never will be. XDD (Cue lots of post-credits sex behind bars... and against the bars... and with the bars in between. >_<)))
Thank you so much for reading this! <333
