Merlin 5x13: Condensed angst

Dec 25, 2012 14:20

It's well known that BBC's idea of Christmas is to kill someone off and watch gleefully as fan wail heartbrokenly over the Internet (nothing will convince me BBC executives don't do that). Merlin has never induced any quality FEELS! in me. I've loved this show for a long time despite its annoying Smallville-esque dragging out of the reveal (and I ( Read more... )

I haven't watched this in ages (I fell off of Supernatural, Being Human, Doctor Who and Merlin all around the same time - still love them to bits, but other things got in the way).

But I feel like I'd agree PERFECTLY with everything you say.

I'd like to state for the record that it's criminal, us being robbed of at least a whole season of Arthur reacting to the revelation. >:(

I want fic.

GAH FEELS.

It could have been worse))) At least we got one episode. I had been really worried that Arthur would just find out in the last 5 minutes. Or wouldn't find out at all)))

Do you think its possible the series is resurrected with Merlin and Arthur when the "need is great"? Considering the dynamic between these two in the first two seasons (probably why there are those who ship these two) what could their relationship be like minus Gwen? Anyway if it is done for good at least I'll have it on dvd.

Speaking of Gwen, the little I have seen of this last season I am pleased. She seems to have progressed from her earlier days when she was a bit boring. In the new season she seems more confident. But anyway I should hold my judgement until after I have seen it all.

I don't think so(( They seem to be done with it.
I think Gwen was never a problem for the shippers or even for Merlin and Arthur themselves. The finale pretty much proved it. XD
I'm sad to say I've always hated Gwen. She was bland, boring and her "I believe in you, Arthur" speeches made her seem more like a plot device than a person. Especially since Merlin's speeches always worked much better. ;)))

Agree. But your points are probably why I couldn't muster much emotion for or against her. As a plot device she did what she was supposed to do, which is a shame. They could have done a lot more with her as a fully fleshed out character. But oh well, she never interfered with my enjoying the show.

Merlin's speeches were the best and watching him interact with Arthur was magic :)

Hopefully they will find something awesome to replace this show.
