Multi-fandom meta: Do Characters Owe Us Anything?

Multi-fandom meta: Do Characters Owe Us Anything?Lately it’s been my incredible bad luck, I suppose, to keep stumbling upon various wanks. Fortunately, most of them are not exactly character-related. Characters are usually my sore spot: I can take a lot of TV-show/writer/style/whatnot hate but I tend to feel really bad for the characters, like they ( Read more... )

Haha, mine wasn't that detailed before I suddenly decided to spell it out. XD I don't know why but I'm really into meta these days.
It exhausts me, it drains all joy out of me, and I have to admit that I dread to open some threads on certain forums because hostility tends to make me sick, sometimes literally. I feel the same. Certain tags on Tumblr make me want to run for the hills at the speed of light ( ... )

there's actually a faction of people who firmly believe that the "NS" means... Naruto/Sakura. OMFG! XDDDD
people can see what they like as long as it makes them happy. But it's terrifying when it makes them aggressive instead. Exactly! I especially agree about religion. That's why I can't stand organized religion and official church most of the time. I think faith is a good thing to have, but organized religion is an institution that forces conventions and convictions on people that usually lead to instigating more differences and hate. Faith is a very personal matter; it shouldn't be turned into something official, imho. Esp. since people can never agree what to believe in. XD
Thank you. <333 I'm guilty of ranting sometimes but one has to piss me off for that. XD Besides, I tried being objective here.

Well, it's hard to take someone for who they are, not who you think they should be. And on top of that, with fictional characters there's always the illusion that they belong to you as a reader/an audience - that you're entitled to get what you want from them. A form of slavery :D 'You' being a generic 'you' because you personally are a rare exception. Every spectator is a tirant at heart. LOL, idk why I'm waxing philosophy here.

Anyway, with so many immature ppl around I wonder how the world still functions at all.

Yeah, I guess that's so, but it doesn't make me any less pessimistic about the fandoms)))) All these wanks take so much fun out of being online. It's normal that ppl have contradictory viewpoints but can't they at least try expressing them in a civilized way?
Waxing is fun)))) You can see that I do that a lot lately for whatever reason)))) (I need to switch back to writing gay porn before I get too mature for my own sake)))
Noooo idea! Maybe it's not! It's not functioning; we're just being digested by something. ;)
