As most of us in New England know, it’s humid out these days! And it’s been hot too! So because of this we are wearing lighter clothing and drinking, or suppose to be drinking more water so we do not dehydrate and such. However, our happy furry friends do not have the ability to wear lighter clothing. And the lack of opposable thumbs makes it harder for them to keep up their hydrations.
If you own a pet, even if your place is nice and cool, make sure they have enough water! You never know when the power will go out and you’re at work and Fluffy is stuck with little to no water. That’s just common sense. Also due to the minerals that are lost as we sweat, on those nice and hot days, add some electrolytes in to the water. You can buy specially formulated for said pet at any decent pet store. If you suddenly find your self thinking that your pet may be dehydrated you can make a quick fix with some salt and bit of orange juice. Remember that the primary electrolytes are Sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and magnesium.
So this is just Sam saying, think of the pets! If you have more direct questions, feel free to ask.
Always remember, I am not certified in anything but CPR, Advanced First Aid, Vision Database, and bunch of Coast Guard stuff that I probably need to reup on, so remember to always consult a doctor or veterinary in case of an emergency.
