[ Ilsa is out walking, and noticing the lawns getting higher as she walks down Brady Lane. This strikes her as pretty odd, considering how adamant the drones are about everyone keeping a tidy yard. ]
[ Then she finds the woman trying to cut her lawn with shears. This looks to be the worst of the lot, with the vines trying to climb the house.
Hey, there - somebody have an accident with some super-fertilizer?
Oh, no, I don't want to impose! [She already feels really guilty for causing this disaster. But there's no way she's ever gonna get it done on her own.]
It's in the back. [And there's still half a yard of chest-high grass between them and the front of the house.]
We had growth suppression machines in the facility where I grew up, and all the concert halls we performed in as well. State approved. My people believe my abilities are God-given, so there was no real focus on teaching me to control them.
Hm, it might take some testing. Not my field of expertise, really. But as many different people there are in town, there's bound to be someone who has done something like this.

[Well, at least she can't hear the plants crying in pain... but she still cringes as the shears cut through another tuft.]

Oof. That's a warning and a half.
[ Ilsa is looking about at the extent of the damage. ]
Looks like you could use another hand. Want some help?

[ Ilsa starts weeding the border. ]
Pfft. If I ever get my garden started, I might need your help sometime.

[She could protest... but she really could use the help. She sighs and goes back to work.]
Hah. It's not very precise. All plants want to grow, so when they hear a Kiches' voice...

[ Ilsa is methodically working her way through the flower bed, using it as active meditation. ]
[ When she reaches the end of the first flower bed, she gathers the weeds and overgrowth. ]
Do you have a compost heap, or something similar?

[ She is standing there, sill holding the bundle of weeds, lost in thought. ]
But suppression machines - where have I heard something like that?
[ She shakes her head, ] Nah, if I chase after it, I won't remember. Let me see if I can make it back to the heap.
