Public post: say it loud, y'all!
Dear friends / casual acquaintances / enemies alike that aren't on my LJ list:
Everybody should know that my life is about to undergo a radical metamorphosis and I have landed my first real job, and I will be out of here by the end of the summer. It is going to take me into vastly unfamiliar depths of Louisiana, where I will be spending at least the next couple of years of my life. Yeah, I'm not much of a hot-weather animal, but chalk this up to experiencing a little bit of everything life has to offer. An opportunity to meet new friends, to experience a different culture and way of living. And an opportunity to be a FREAKING TIGER (at LSU, which is now in all likelihood where I'll be earning my doctorate at, as it is not too far from where I'm going to be!).
There will be a party before I leave, complete with love for all my friends in an uncharacteristic show of emotion from me. If you're my friend and not on my list, now would be a good time for you to announce it so I can add you and easily keep you abreast of my plans. -^^-
For all I have complained, my career, life and future are all going to turn out exactly as I planned...starting with this position as the catalyst. I am now ahead of the game, having been given an opportunity that I now appreciate as incredibly rare and valuable for someone with my background--continuing contract full-time college teaching at 26. This is where I prove myself. This is where I belong.
All of you helped, be it friend or person-I-can't-stand. All of you made me into a stronger person, and all of you reading this deserve my thanks.
And if you read about some guy being arrested multiple times for public nudity in the offbeat news section, it will be me trying to compensate for the relentless heat and humidity. I don't think I'll have much use for clothing. o_o;
