He laced their fingers together with a warm smile, shifting closer so their arms were touching with each slight swing as they moved.
"Because you've got good taste. An' I tend ta go for what I know," which was actually a true, and valid point, he felt. His first pick would always be somewhere that offered a Southern meal or two for him to consider. He liked his home comforts, even when not home.
Christa softly laughed and gave him a kiss before releasing his hand. "I'll make us some sandwiches when we get back to the house," she said before stepping back.
She was almost tempted to open the passenger side door for him, just to be funny, but decided not to make him feel less manly. Instead, she went to the driver's side and got in. Once she was settled, she pulled her seat belt over her, and started the car.
"Sounds perfect," he didn't care what they ate. So long as they did so his stomach could fully settle, and he could be near to her, he was satisfied. The more they did together, the less time he had to mull over all bothered him currently.
He settled into the car, belted up and relaxed back, giving her a sideways glance from the passenger seat. "Nice lil' car."
"Thank you. I figured I needed one when I came back to Earth," Christa said as she pulled out of the parking lot and started toward her house. "Guess I'll have to find someone to buy it before we leave on the Galaway."
It was going to be strange, not being on Earth anyone, but she was also looking forward to it. "Is there anything you need to get? I'm taking tomorrow off to do some shopping so if you want to come with me you can."
"I'll have to look into the garages Starfleet keeps. I've never had any use for them before," she said with a nod.
When he started to talk about the things he needed to buy, Christa let out a laugh. "Sorry. It's been so long since I've been with someone long enough to discuss underwear," she said with a sheepish look.
He just smiled and nodded at that, laughing quietly as he looked over at her with pure amusement. "We're discussin' boxer shorts. Not lingerie. Though if we're buyin' for me, logic says we buy for you."
Christa laughed as she turned the car down a side road. "Is that something you really want to do, Leonard? Go shopping for lingerie with me?" she asked as she raised her eyebrows.
His eyes lit up and he smiled at her, a wicked sort of smile. Of course he was serious! He didn't care about age; he knew she'd look good in some. "Not sayin' that you're not already unbelievably sexy, but can't hurt to buy somethin'. Not that it'll stay on you very long."
"How do you know I don't already have some?" Christa asked with a wink. Of course she had gotten a little something to wear for him since they hadn't seen each other for so long.
Oh, that made his eyebrow shoot upwards, and he stared at her. But his eyes lit up, lips quirked upwards and he laughed quietly. "Well hell, now you've said that, I just hafta see it."
"Maybe after lunch I'll show you," Christa said with a wink.
It didn't take long until she was pulling into her driveway. She pushed the button for her garage door, and once she had the car inside the garage, she killed the engine and looked over at him.
"You're about to see me devour my food in record time then," he laughed. Not entirely far from the truth, of course. He needed food to settle his stomach once more.
"Sure looked nice from the outside," he commented as he undid his seatbelt.
"You're adorable, Leonard," Christa said as she undid her own seat belt. "The inside is even nicer."
Getting out of the car, she waited for him to join her before walking into the the door, which led them into the kitchen. "So this is the kitchen," she said with a laugh.
He just winked at her and got out of the car, following her. With his head turned he looked round, lips curling upwards with amusement. "Glad you pointed that out."
She laughed. "No problem," she said as she motioned for him to follow her. Christa figured she could give him a quick tour before lunch.
Stepping out of the kitchen, she waved her hand around. "This is the living room. If you want to watch a movie, the halo projector is over in the corner," she said before pointing at the stairs. "Bedrooms are up there, along with a bathroom and there's another bathroom down that small hallway."
