"Buck?"
The almost breathless whisper seemed to echo through the room. The man who whispered it strained his hearing for any response to the soft inquiry. To Ezra's relief, it was answered.
The tired voice of the Explosive Expert rumbled back across to Ezra. "I'm here. What happened?"
A soft snort came out of Ezra then, "It would seem that the boss feels that our criminal organization would benefit in a show of power by keeping us prisoners for a ransom. We seemed to have chosen our organizational name poorly."
A soft chuckle, "You have any idea how long we've been tied up here?"
Before Ezra could answer Buck's question, the lone door to the room was flung open. Striding into the room was one Evert Clark, a small time hood who had worked his way up the ranks to becoming the leader of his own gang. Stopping in front of the two bound men, Evert smiled. "You must wonder why I have tied you two up. Why I would risk the wraith of your boss?"
"Because you have a death wish?"
Buck stated from his seat. Evert nodded to one of his flunkies and the flunky punched Buck in the mouth "Now that wasn't necessary was it?"
Spitting some blood to the ground, Buck smiled. "Just seeing how stupid you are."
Visible stopping himself from hitting the Explosive Expert, Evert turned to Ezra. "Your bodyguard has a mouth on him, but it won't last long. I'm sending a message to your boss. Only it will be something that someone like him will understand. Your bodyguard's body will be left in an old dirty alleyway, then you will text your boss to meet with you there. When your boss sees my note and the body, it should show him that I'm serious and if he thinks you're so valuable, he'll give me a much better price on the weapons to get you back."
Ezra and Buck shared a worried glance. Clearing his throat, Ezra started to speak. "That would be a bad idea. Our boss doesn't like anyone in his employment to get hurt. It will not endear you to him. He will come after you and destroy you. He isn't someone you wish to mess with."
Evert smirked. "I'm not afraid of anyone especially a boss that is past his prime and spends his day drinking and eating with the rich. This will show that I'm serious."
Feeling a panic rise in him, Ezra spattered out. "You are wrong, this will get you killed. Don't do this. There is no reason to kill anyone and if you let go of your stupid attitude. You would see this isn't the way to announce yourself to the world."
Evert shook his head. Before he could reply, Buck interjected. "Listen to him hoss, this isn't a good idea. You do this and there is no going back, you've signed your death warrant. "
Evert grinned at the two men. "It’s too late. Your begging isn't going to work. You can always buy more bodyguards."
With that, Evert motion for his lackey to move behind the bound Buck. The lackey placed the barrel of the gun against the back of Buck's neck. The condemned man turned to looked at Ezra, clearing his throat, he forced out. "It’s not your fault."
Then in an instance there was a flash and bang, as the gun went off, Buck's head seemed to slam forward and to the side. Blood seemed to rain down from the bullet wound. And like a puppet that had his strings cut, the Explosive Expert went limp.

Two weeks ago...
“Mr. Larabee? I thought we were on break from taking any other cases?”
Looking up at Ezra, Chris sighed. “We were on a break but we're the only team that is free to take the case and it's urgent. Seems there is a new player coming into town and this one doesn't seem to care about the body count.
Flipping through the file, Josiah looked up and spoke. “And how are we supposed to take him down?”
Glancing around at his team, Chris grinned. “Moving into a new area, he needs weapons and a source for them. That is where we come in. Ezra will go in as a middle man, to broker a deal.”
“Who's playing the bodyguard?”
Eying Vin, Chris sighed. “To stop you and Buck playing rock, paper scissor to decide, Buck is going to be the bodyguard. If we get him to agree to the buying the weapons will need you to do the demonstration of the weapons.”
“We're going to the nice restaurant this time then?”
Turning to look at the Explosive Expert, Ezra snorted. “Knowing our luck, this man will believe that reheated frozen breakfast is the best food on earth.”
Vin smiled. “I like that guy. At least he knew what good eating was.”
Glaring at the sniper, Ezra sighed. “I truly wonder why you don't die with some of the things you eat.”
As the group laughed at the comment, Ezra rolled his eyes, hoping this would be an easy case and over soon...

Present day...
A black sedan moved slowly through the thickly falling snow. The only illumination came from the glare of the streets light off the snowflakes and the light spilling from what business, which were still open.
The car pulled up silently to the curb. A door opened and two men in dark suits got out. Opening the trunk they pulled out a person. With a silent count of three, the two men in suits tossed the person from the trunk onto the curb. Just missing having the person hit the trash cans in the alley.
Shutting the trunk quietly, they gave no second look to the person they just dumped. They got back into the warm car, and drove off, leaving the body lying in the slush, slowly getting covered in snow and a small but growing puddle of blood.
7777
Chris stared at the dirty slush and ice that seemed to be clinging to every open spot in the alleyway. “You sure, Buck and Ezra said to meet them here?”
Avoiding a puddle, JD looked up at Chris. “Yes. That is at least what it showed on their text.”
Gazing around the alleyway, Chris’s eyes past over a large lump that seemed off with the rest of the items in the alleyway. Coming back to that lump several times, something about it seemed familiar. As he was about to ask JD again if this is the right place, he slammed his mouth shut and rushed forward to the lump in the snow as he realized that the lump wasn’t snow but was a person.
Sliding to a stop, Chris fell to his knees next to the snow covered lump. Brushing some snow off the lax form, Chris reached out and felt for a pulse. Feeling a week pulse, the leader of the seven called out to JD. “Call for an ambulance! Tell them to get here now!”
“What's wrong Chris? Is that...”
Chris growled out, “Just call for the ambulance. Now! We need to get him to the hospital.”
777777
The holiday music that was being piped through to the hospital waiting room did nothing to sooth Chris. Instead it seemed to be having the opposite effect. Growling softly, Chris stopped in mid-pace and sat back down next to JD. “Anything yet?”
JD sighed, “No, the forensic people are running the prints from the note, but we know who it’s from. Why would they do that?”
Before Chris could speak again, the doors to the waiting room open and the other three men from team seven appeared. Zeroing in on Chris and JD, they zoomed over to the other two agents. Nathan was the first one to speak. “What happened?
Chris turned to look at the doors that led deeper into the hospital and then looked back at the other three men. “We found Buck in the alley, left for dead. He had been shot and a message had been pinned to his chest.”
Josiah frowned, “Pinned?”
Growling Chris nodded. “Pinned. As in they stuck it to his chest with a pocket knife to make sure it stayed in place.”
Vin frowned,.“And you think it was from Clark’s group that did this?”
“I know it. The bastard signed his note. He wanted to make sure that I was aware of who did this and if I don't do as he wants, he'll kill Ezra.”
“So, he shoots Buck then plans to kill Ezra?”
Chris glared at the hospital doors and finally spat out. “No Nate. He thought he had killed Buck. Buck's dead body was supposed to be a message.”
77777777777
The group had fallen silent at that proclamation. Before any of them could say anything a voice called out, “Anyone here for a Mr. Wilmington?”
The five men turned as one and looked at the Doctor. Chris surged forward and spoke up. “We are.”
The doctor stared at the group and sighed, “He's lucky. Whoever tried to kill him botch the job. He should be dead from what we could tell. Instead of the bullet going though his neck, the bullet somehow instead just grazed his neck, then hit the back of his shoulder at a downward angle and came out the front of his shoulder at a couple of inches below where it went in. He was lucky that he was thrown in the snow, it helped stop some of the bleeding and kept him alive.”
The team released their breath. Nathan spoke up, “Can we see him? How long is he going to here?”
“He is still unconscious from the operation. He should wake up some time either later today or early tomorrow. It depends on how much the blood loss and the injury took out of him. “
Chris nodded, “We're going to need someone to stay with him twenty-four/seven until he can leave.”
“I take this has something to do with how he was found?”
The leader of Team Seven nodded, “Yes.”
The doctor was quiet for a few seconds then looking at Chris, he spoke. “As long as whoever is staying doesn't get in the way, I don't have a problem with it.”
Chris smiled. “Good. Now, can we see him?”
“Shortly. He should be in recovery for a little bit then we'll move him to his room. I'll get a nurse to bring you to him.”
With that, the doctor left and the rest of the team was forced to wait and hope that Ezra was okay.
77777777777
Neither the cooling food, nor the now free hands and feet registered with the Undercover Agent. His lone focus seemed to be the splattering of drops of red dried blood which covered the floor in front of an empty chair.
He didn't really see those drops or the chair or even the room. He kept seeing the replay of Buck's final moments, the sound of the gun, the forgiveness in the Explosives Expert's eyes, the shattering sound of the gun firing, the scream of 'no' crawling up his throat wanting to get out but Ezra not even finding the breath to shout it.
The way that the men laughed as they pinned the note to the dead man's chest. The echoing sounds of the cruel and insulting jokes the two men spouted about Buck’s life and what they would do to the dead body. The hyena like grin from the two-bit-hood who thought he was grander then what he really was.
None of that seemed to touch the thought that the luck of Team Seven seemed to have come crashing to a horrible halt.
So lost in these thoughts of what had happen to Buck, he hadn't noticed that Evert had come back. Not until a fist in his stomach brought him out of his musings. Gasping for his breath, Ezra turned his hatred onto the person who deserving it.
As he gained his breath back, he spat out, “What do you want?"
The man smiled, walking around the room, the gun runner grinned. "Just seeing how you are doing. My minions told me you seemed a little grief stricken over the death of your hired hand."
"My hired hand was a trusted friend as well as a bodyguard. My boss will not be happy about this. You have forfeited your life."
Throwing his head back and laughing, Evert stared at the captured buyer. "You shouldn't make empty threats. By now your boss has found our present of his previous employee with a nice little note. If your boss is half as loyal to you as you are to your recently dead bodyguard, you might get out of this alive."
Ezra growled, "You won't. You're messing with something you don't understand."
Reaching out, Evert patted Ezra's head, “You are but a loyal dog to your master aren't you? Have no fear, I made my point with your bodyguard, and no one else should have to die. Though, I do wish I had been there to see your Boss's expression when he saw the dead bodyguard. Now, I have to go and deal with some odds and ends. You be a good kidnap victim and stay in the room, or I'll have the guards shoot you."
Glaring at the man, Ezra hissed out, "Your days are numbered. When this is over, I would suggest that you learn to sleep with one eye open."
Throwing his head back and laughing, calling over his shoulder as he left the room. "Oh, I won't worry about your threats. When I'm done, you’ll wish you had never met me."
Watching the man leave, Ezra slumped against the chair he was seated in. Staring back at the red rusty spots of blood, Ezra muttered out, “I already wish that."
777777
JD sighed as he pushed his laptop away from him. Turning to look at the unconscious man, the young Electronics Expert wished that he could see Buck awake. This was supposed to be a simple case. Just taking down a two bit hood who thought he was the next great kingpin. It wasn't any more dangerous then any other case, but they had to have missed something.
Getting up, JD walked over to the lone window in the room. Staring out at the world he wondered where Ezra was being held. Hearing the door open, JD turned as he reached and pulled out his gun, pointing at the person making an entrance.
“Whoa JD! I'm not going to kill Buck.”
Lowering his gun, JD smiled sheepishly, “Sorry Vin, its just...”
“You don't want Evert to learn that Buck is still alive and try to kill him?”
Smiling sheepishly, JD nodded. “What if he decides to come and finish it or kills Ezra as another message or something?”
Moving over to look at Buck, Vin sighed, “He won't hurt Ezra. He needs Ezra for his plan to work. He kills Ezra; he doesn't have a hostage to work with.”
Letting out a short puff of air, the young agent moved back over to Buck. “Do you think he'll wake up soon?”
The sniper looked down at the unconscious man. “He will wake up. He has made it this far; he'll wake up soon. Right Bucklin?”
When there was no response to the nickname, Vin sighed. “Worth a try.”
Eying the sniper, JD frowned, “What was worth a try?”
“Sometimes Buck likes to play possum when he's been injured. I was hoping it was one of those times. Anyway you need to head out. Chris wants to know what you found and you need to sleep. “
“I'm fine. I don't need to sleep.”
Snorting, Vin settled into the empty chair in the room. “Yes you do. Besides Nate has ordered it. Either way Chris needs you back at the office in the morning doing your magic with the computer.”
JD frowned. He really didn't want to leave the hospital room. “You'll wake me as soon as you hear anything?”
Vin nodded, “If he wakes up, I'll give you call.”
With a final nod, JD left the hospital still not likely the idea of leaving Buck.
77777777777
The creak of the door and the pounding of feet dragged Ezra out from his thoughts. Turing to look at the man that started this thing, the undercover expert growled, “What do you want?”
Evert shook his head. “I'm sad. You don't want to see me. You're alive because of me.”
“I'm alive because you need a hostage to make your plan work.” Ezra sneered out.
“True. Very true. I can let you know that my plan worked. Your boss has everyone he knows out searching for us. Seems he didn't like my early present. But don't worry about it; he won't be able to find us. We are well hidden here.”
Ezra glared at the man, “You won't live for much longer.”
Throwing his head back laughing, Evert shook his head. “I... oh you are funny. Now, you need to eat something. I know it isn't four star cuisines, but it is food and I don't want you starving to death before I can meet with your boss. Now, be a good dog and eat the food. I'll check on you later, I have things to do and prepare.”
77777777777
Closing his eyes against the food, Ezra couldn't help himself as his mind dove to the night before, when Buck and he were eating dinner....
Looking down at the room service dinner, Ezra frowned. “Aren't you being a little paranoid about this?”
“No, I don't trust Evert. He has something planned and we need to have a night to relax a little bit and unwind.”
Ezra frowned at the food in front of him. “I could have unwound with a better meal.”
Rolling his eyes, the Explosive Expert sighed, “Yes, and I could have more fun with any number of wonderful women out there, but it isn't safe. Evert is up to something.”
Racking his brain about the last few days, the Undercover Expert frowned. “Well, yes, he is out trying to set himself as a leader of the underground criminals. But he isn't the first person trying to do this that we’ve taken down.”
Sighing, Buck pushed his food around a little. “There is just something that is off about him. We need to be careful with him.”
The Southern frowned. “You have some information that something is going to happen?”
Buck frowned, “No. Something is just off. I don't like the way he looks at us sometimes, like he is trying to figure out which one of us would be best to kill. Just watch yourself.”
Ezra grinned. “I always do. I always do...
Blinking, Ezra came out of the memory and crashed back into the real world. He wished he had given Buck's warning more credence. Maybe if he had or been better prepared Buck wouldn’t be dead, thrown out to lie in an alleyway and food for the first scavenger that finds the body.
With a shake of his head, he took a deep breath. He wouldn't mourn yet...not till Evert had paid.
7777
The soft beeps of the machine and the footsteps of nurses outside of the closed door were the only noise that disturbed the night. Half-asleep, Vin didn't notice the soft groan that the man in the hospital bed spat out.
With a slightly louder groan and short loud yelp as the man in the bed tried to sit up, the sniper did wake up. Blinking his eyes, Vin looked over at Buck. Staring at the Explosive Expert, who had his eyes screwed shut in trying to deal with the pain his aborted action had caused, Vin let out a short breath. “Breath through the pain, Bucklin. You're safe.”
After a few moments, Buck finally took one more deep breath, and opened his eyes, “Vin?”
Pouring some water into a cup, Vin put the straw that was in the glass to Buck's mouth and let the man take a couple of sips.
“Relax, you’re in the hospital. You'll be fine.”
“Ezra?”
Biting his lip, Vin took a deep breath, “We don't know. Do you remember what happened?”
Closing his eyes for a couple of minutes, Buck finally shook his head, “Just flashes of a warehouse and pain....lots of pain and cold.”
Frowning, Vin sighed. “Nothing more?”
Shifting slightly, Buck stop moving as he felt a sharp piercing pain that he got from his body. “No, I don't remember much. Just flashes of things. None of it making sense.”
Slumping against the back of the chair he was sitting in, Vin eyed the exhausted man. “Just relax and breathe. You’re tired and you've been through a lot. Get more sleep and you'll remember more.”
Opening his mouth to protest, a yawn escaped. Smiling at the Explosive Expert, Vin shook his head, “Go to sleep. I'll let the others know that you woke up. You need the sleep.”
Closing his eyes, Buck quickly fell back to sleep. Watching the sleeping man for a second, Vin got up and reached for his cell phone, he needed to tell the others that Buck woke up and didn't remember anything.
77777777777
The clattering of footsteps woke Vin from the slight doze he had fallen into. Blinking, he reached for his gun then stopped as he recognizes the voices. Taking a quick glance at the still sleeping agent, Vin got up and met the group at the door of the room. “You know if he was still unconscious, I think the racket that you are making would wake him.”
The group stopped. JD in a soft voiced question asked, “Is he awake?”
A very tired voice spoke from the bed. “He is now. I was worried that a heard of elephants was coming towards me.”
JD seemed to have gone from standing near Vin to the Buck's hospital bed in a blink of an eye. Peering down at the older man, the Electronics Expert frowned. “How are you?”
“Fin...”
Nathan literally growled out, “Don't say fine or I will tie you to that bed and have the doctors come back and do an exam.”
Rolling his eyes, Buck sighed. “I'm stuck in a hospital with more machines surrounding me and an IV stuck in my arm I’ll live. What happened?”
Chris frowned. “You don't remember?”
Closing his eyes, Buck shook his head slightly. “I don't remember much, just flashes.”
Staring at the tired man, Chris cursed. “I was hoping you would remember where he had taken you. All we have is the note that he sent with you. Besides telling us where to meet, it doesn't give us any hint of where Ezra is being held.”
Closing his eyes, Buck opened them and shook his head. “Nothing that I can remember. What did the note say?”
Nathan moved closer to Buck to check on how the man was looking and spoke. “Not much. Just asking if we like his present and that if we want our salesman back in one piece and alive, Chris will met him in two days and turn control over his organization over to him.”
“So, to get Ezra back, you have to hand over a fictions gunrunning operation over to him?”
Josiah nodded. “Yes, and I doubt that this man will be happy to learn there is no such operation.”
JD moved closer to the hurt man. “And we've been searching the warehouses that you and Ezra meant him in, but we haven't turned up anything, besides they've been swept clean.”
“Haven't found any more?”
Vin snorted. “You know how many warehouses there are in Denver? Even if you don't include the surrounding area, we’re talking about hundreds if not thousands of warehouses.”
Buck snorted. “I think we've been to most of them.”
Nodding in agreement, Chris sighed. “That might be true, but it doesn't get us any closer to finding Ezra.”
Unable to hide a yawn, Buck blinked very slowly. Before he could say anything, Nathan spoke up. “I think it's time for us to leave.”
“I’ll live. I can sleep later when Ezra is safe.”
Nathan shook his head. “You almost died and you won't help Ezra if you do because you push yourself too far.”
Before he could protest, Chris spoke up. “Listen to Nathan. We're still running down some leads.”
“But...”
“Rest. We still have a day before we need to meet him for the trade. I'm sure we'll hear from him again. Just heal up. Ezra will be okay.”
Before he could protest against Chris's words, the tug of sleep finally won and he slipped under to a healing sleep.
Vin turned to Nate. “He isn't going to be happy if he learns you gave him some help in sleeping.”
Trying to look innocent, Nathan blinked. “I didn't do anything and he’s just tired.”
The rest of the men nodded. Vin looked over at Chris. “You still want one of us to stay here?”
Taking a deep breath, Chris nodded. “We need to make sure that Evert doesn't learn that Buck still lives. He's our Ace in the hole right now.”
JD looked around. “I'll stay.”
Chris shook his head. “No, we need you back at the office. Josiah will stay now and someone will relieve you in a couple of hours.”
“But I can...”
“No, JD. You need to be at the office to run your searches. I know you want to be here, but you can help them both by digging up all the information you can on Evert.”
For a long moment JD seemed to want to argue, but he deflated and nodded. He couldn't let Ezra suffer because of Buck. The Explosive Expert would give him a lecture and tell him to find the missing man. “Okay.” Turning to Josiah, “Just if he wakes up...”
The older man nodded. “I'll let you know if he wakes. I’ll let him know that you're worried about him.”
77777777777
Taking a deep breath, Ezra blinked and surfaced from his thoughts of what had happened. He shook his head angrily. Sulking and lost in memories wasn't going to bring Buck back or avenge his killer. There would be time for that mourning later. With a slight groan he stood up and walked around the small room. He had been moved to this new room sometime yesterday in one of Evert's many trips to visit him.
Ezra had tried to sleep on the old dirty mattress that was supposed to serve as his bed, but sleep eluded him as the replay of Buck getting shot had played through is mind everytime he tried to rest. Shaking his head, Ezra started to go over the small room hoping to find something that would help him escape.
After circling the room several times, Ezra cursed. There was nothing, not even the smallest bit of wire to use to try to pick the door's lock. Kicking the mattress in frustration, the undercover expert sat down on the chair that was in the room. Before he could do anything else, the door to his room burst open and Evert stood in the doorway.
Glaring at the man, Ezra noticed that one of the man's goon was holding a newspaper. "Finally brought me something decent to read?"
Grinning, Evert shook his head. “No, but I'm sure I'll leave it with you when we're done. There is a nice article in the metro section about a dead body found in an alleyway half chewed by rats and birds. But, we came to get some proof so your boss knows that you are still alive; at least for now. Now be a good captive and hold the paper and smile."
Before Ezra could say or do anything, the newspaper was shoved in his hands and there was a quick picture taken with Evert's phone.
Evert grinned at the undercover agent. “Thank you I’m sure your boss will be happy to know you're still alive. I'll even leave the paper for you to read.”
Before Ezra could say anything, Evert and the bodyguard left the room and slammed the door shut. Staring at the door Ezra's gaze hovered down to his hands that held the paper. Settling back in the chair, Ezra's gaze never wavered from the paper where he was staring at the small circled article that talked about Buck.”
777
...staring back at the jade green eyes, Buck wanted to say more but he couldn't with Evert and his goons standing around. Trying to get one last message through to Ezra, he turned slightly, but before he could do anything he felt more then heard the gun being fired, then pain then nothing...
Waking up with a yell at his lips, he tried to sit up, but before he could move an inch a hand was holding him down and a voice was trying to tell him something. After a few minutes, Buck was able to finally understand what Nathan was saying.
Blinking, he licked his lips and spoke up, “Wha...”
Nathan sighed as he settled back. “You woke up ready to sit up from a nightmare. I was trying to get you to stop trying to sit up. I don't want you to tear any of the stitches. Do you remember what you were dreaming?”
Closing his eyes for a bit, Buck tried to search his memory of the dream. After a few moments, Buck’s eyes flew open and stared at Nathan. “I know where he is. We have to go and get him.”
Nathan reached for his phone. “You are staying here. I'll let Chris know but you aren't going anywhere.”
Before Buck could protest, Nathan was on the phone with Chris.
7777
JD jerked up from where he was on the computer, peering around the room, he called out. “Guys, I think I got something.”
Looking up at JD, Chris broke off the conversation that he was having with Vin. “What is it?”
“I was checking the email we set up for you and there was an email from Evert. He left instructions for the meet and a picture.”
Moving over to JD's computer, Chris frowned. “Click on the image.”
With a click, the rest of the group was standing around the computer. As the photo opened, the group stared at the image of Ezra holding today's paper, glaring at the person who was holding the camera. “He's still alive.”
Looking over at Josiah, Chris growled softly. “That's all we know. We don't even see the room that he is being held in.”
Vin frowned. “Can you find where the email was sent from?”
JD sighed, “It would take awhile, more time then we have and if it came through a phone, I'll only get the nearest tower.”
Nodding, Chris frowned for a second. “See if you can narrow the area down at least. It might help.”
Looking over at Team Seven's leader, Josiah frowned slightly. “What about the note?”
Chris sighed, “It isn't anything new, just a time and location for the meeting. We'll check out the meeting, but since it’s a restaurant and he said he'll give us Ezra's location after the exchange of information, I'm not holding my breath Ezra will be in the building.”
Before anyone could say anything else, Chris's cell phone rang. “Hello...he remembers?....what do you mean he says he has to show us? He's in no shape in getting out of bed....Tell him to give us the directions to get there...I don't care, he almost died! He can tell us... We have another letter, we'll be there soon. Keep him in that bed.”
Slamming the phone shut. Chris let go of a breath. “Grab your laptop JD, we're going to go to the hospital. Buck woke up and remembered where he and Ezra were brought.”
Josiah eyed Chris. “That's good right? We don't have to follow Evert's instructions?”
Growling slightly, Chris shook his head. “It's good he remembers how to get there, it's bad that he says the only way he can find it is if he gets out of the hospital and shows us.”
77777777777
Marching into the hospital room, Chris glared at the man that was trying to escape his bed. “What do you think you are doing?”
Buck paused in his struggles and look up at Chris. “Leaving. You need to find Ezra and I know where he is.”
“Then tell us.”
Shaking his head, Buck hissed as that aggravated his wounds. Taking a short breath to control the pain he answered Chris. “They sent a driver for us. We were stuck in the back with windows that were so heavily tinted we couldn't see out of them. We were able to see a few things through the front windshield. I recognized the area and got a good look at the warehouse, I can lead you there, but I can't give you a set of instructions of how to get there. I have to go.”
Before Chris or Nathan could speak, JD rushed in, “But you just woke up and you haven't even been able to stay awake for longer then an hour, you’re hurt. You should stay. We could mount a camera on the car and you direct us from here by phone.”
Looking up, Buck eyed JD for a long moment, and then huffed. “We don't have time for that. I can survive long enough to find the warehouse. I can sit in car and give directions.”
Nathan snorted. “We would rather you do more then survive the trip.”
Chris glared at the Explosives Expert. “You really think that you can do this?”
Buck turned his eyes, almost pleading, to Chris. “I can do this. I've had worse, and I'll listen to Nathan about this.”
Closing his eyes for a long moment, Chris opened them and spoke. “Nathan, get Buck's doctor and let him know that we need to borrow Buck for a few hours. Also let him know his patient will be returning. And before you argue, I agree with you, but we don't know how much time Ezra has left, and if this lets us find him, then we need to do it.”
Nathan and JD shared a look, but in their hearts, they knew Chris was right; they didn't have much of a choice. They needed to find Ezra.
