Shiritsu Bakaleya Highschool 05 [Review/Stream]
Episode 5 of Bakaleya just ended few minutes ago, and now I'm posting this. The photos were screencapped from keyholetv app so the quality is really bad.
I have so many things to say about this episode, but i'll leave my comments after my summary.
The episode started with a school ranking posted on a bulletin board. Obviously, it was Fumie (Paruru) who got first place, Saya in 2nd place, and Sayuri (Mitsumune Kaoru) in 3rd. The girls gave bouquet of flowers to the three as congratulatory gift. They were making a fuss over the rankings, meanwhile, the boys are being just themselves. The girls noticed the indoor shoes stocked at the back, seeing the boys didnt wear it. Then, a scene where someone walking on the edge of a roof is shown. Noguchi (Juri) and Maya (Taiga) were walking outside school when suddenly one indoor shoe fell on them. Confused for a while, Maya looked up, suddenly realizing something, then broke into a hurried run. Noguchi follows but his stamina fell as they ran to the rooftop. Maya reached the rooftop and saw Sayuri at the edge of the roof. Sayuri didnt notice him until Maya was close enough to be seen. Sayuri is like in a pissed mood and snapped at Maya and said something and grabbed her indoor shoe from Maya's hands. After that, in class, Maya seems to always stare or look at Sayuri. The boys being idiots are teasing Maya, as they were going out and sees Maya not standing from his seat. I think they were teasing him liking a girl and about dating cause they even inquired Shohei-san (Takaki) about dating. With the boys' noise, Maya got pissed and slammed his hands on the table that left the boys shocked. Next scene is Tatsuya (Shintaro)and Tetsuya (Hokuto) having a date taking a walk together when they saw someone. Maya is walking alone when he suddenly saw Sayuri by the woods, holding the bouquet of flowers the girls gave her and throwing it away. The next day in class, Tatsuya is puzzled on why Maya is absent, and Fumie is wondering why Sayuri is absent. We then see Sayuri walking aimlessly and Maya following her. Sayuri know he is following her. Then when they reached an open space, the gangsters they were fighting before saw them, so, Maya stepped forward like protecting Sayuri from them. The gangsters being mean idiots, joked about being girly and all. Maya mumbles something. Then flashes of baby pictures are shown. Maya is mumbling that he is not a girl, for many times while alternately flashing baby photos of him dressed as a girl. He then snaps and attacks the guys. After class, Tatsuya said something to Fumie that is noticed by Tetsuya and looked at them. At the hallway, Fumie bumped into some student and the papers she was holding fell. As she was in the middle of picking them up, Tetsuya helped her and he said something about Tatusya. Cut scene to Maya and Sayuri walking with a large distance from each other, obviously after the fight. Sayuri asked Maya if he's okay which Maya answered that he's okay. Here's when Sayuri asked something to Maya, I can't translate. At school, Mana (Mary Nagao) confessed to Fumie that they saw Sayuri ripped her picture in the bulletin board which prompt the girl to be worried about her. And then Noguchi said something that made them more worried and the boys too because Maya is involved. They decided to look for the two of them. They split up, Noguchi, Tatsuya, Fumie and Saya are grouped and the rest in another group. Maya and Sayuri is at the rooftop again having a conversaion. Here, they spilled their storied to each other. Maya told Sayuri about him being mistaken and raised as a girl until they realized he really was a boy. And my guess, Sayuri is confessing about being pressured being in Cattleya Girl's School and being always good. The groups looking for the two had conversations on their mission. Tatsuya spilled that way back before, Maya has attempted suicide.The group then met up announcing they cant find either of them, which Fumie had a thought that maybe they were still at school. Bugged by the possibility of the though, they ran back to school. Tatsuya saw the two at the edge of the rooftop so they ran upstairs. Fumie came rushing first and suddenly she slapped Sayuri like saying something cheesy and hugging and crying. The girls followed and they hugged. Maya left and saw the boys and be the cute boys they are. Problem solved. At the end, they saw the guy Tatsuya and Tetsuya met before and he was riding a bike motor, said something to Tatsuya and brofisted with him. After that, the girls who were following behind said to themselves that they dont understand what that means. The girls not seeing them, Fumie offered a brofist to Sayuri which Sayuri responded with. The End.
There you have it. Honestly, at first I was really excited and looked forward on what will happen, but in the end, i just ended up with an 'Eh' reaction. Like the tension fell abruptly. All the things I was dreading last week was not really catered tonight. I was disappointed with the Maya-Sayuri thing. yeah, they interacted way closer than the others, but the end of their issue is just suddenly cut off by a slap and a hug from Paruru... It's like Paruru is an insect that destroyed the moment/mood. >.< Another thing I was disappointed, the tension they built for Tetsuya-Fumie-Tatsuya was suddenly gone, or let me say toned down extremely, like 1% was just left from the tension last week! What happened?! I was expecting more observing looks from Tetsuya to Fumie and Tatsuya but there is just one and it's not even with a very meaningful observing look like last week's! >.< But I must say, the Fumie dropped the papers and Tetsuya helped to pick them up thing, i kinda knew Tetsuya will help her. I just wish they made use of that scene more to build a tension. *sigh* And the end just ended like how the other episode did except for last week's. No preview or anything. Though I love Taiga's screen time! He was so beautiful from every angle! >.<
So, to summarize my feelings, I am disappointed. :( I was kinda looking forward for tonight's episode. SInce, I just recently knew and liked Paruru, like just a day ago and Kaoru too! SO i hope next episode will be fun and more exciting and hoping for a building of tension between characters! Please! Yeah. that's it. BYE! >.<
