Summary: A Meiji-era AU about village life and death, and the coming of a new year.
Dedication: For the Jan./Feb. picture from sublimeparadigm's Calendar Contest over on ishi_ichi, though it wasn't finished in time. Now I'm going to dedicate it to Ryuuken's birthday, even if it's about as non-White-Day as a fic can get. Mad props to lotus_seed and kiyala for helping me with this along the way.
