2019 Yuletide letter
Dear Yuletide Author,
Thank you for writing me a fic! I'm very grateful for the time you've taken, as these are the fandoms I actively go to look for fics in. I suppose I should have a long list of DNWs, but the fact is, other than RPS (not keen on them at all), if the fic isn't wildly OOC in terms of character and canon-verse, it's all fine. I'm not a fan of extreme or gratuitous violent scenes, but overall the entire fic is yours to write.
Some thoughts:
HIStory3 - Trapped
The series that ate my brain this year, even more than Untamed (more on that later). There's so much to explore about the characters, either in their backstories or in the future lives they will have together. One of the things I've wondered is, how did Tang Yi meet Jack in the first place? Was there a job interview of some sort (eheheh) or did Jack muscle his way in somehow? Alternatively, how do Tang Yi and Jack deal with each other now that the events of Trapped are over? With the fact that their lovers are work partners? Oh, I'm being too subtle: I'd love a fic where Shao Fei and Zhao Zi keep trying to get them to become friends so that they can double-date, and both of them are like, "Nope", until they do. ^_^ Or whatever rocks your boat!
The Untamed
I admit it: I wasn't all that thrilled by the source, i.e. the novel itself, because I was reading it in translation and parts of the phrasing simply grated on me. The animated show is incomplete. So the live action series was perfect. The sheer adorableness of the main couple bowled me over. The backstory was tragic and angsty, and I preferred the parts that occurred 16 years later, partly because... May I please, please read about Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian taking the kids out for the day?
Just a smallbig suggestion. I promise, I like any fic with them!
Are you Human Too?
Partly because there should be more fics in this fandom. The series ended with Nam Shin III and Kang So Bong meeting each other again, but I really want to know how they build their life together. Does Korean intelligence come looking once they realise Nam Shin III could be a superspy? Does Nam Shin III become a day trader since he can run stock market predictions like whoa and ends up rolling in money? Does he become an AI scientist himself? So many fascinating future options for Nam Shin III and Kang So Bong who loves him, because whatever Nam Shin III does, they are surely doing it together.
