Japanese Candy

As all my friends (should) know, I moved into the county this spring. In the city, every sShnucks carries my favorite candy, pocky. You may have heard of it: bicuit sticks dipped in chocolate or strawberry cream/frosting stuff. So, if every city Schnucks has pocky, shouldn't the county?

Either I'm a radical, or the Schnucks people just don't get it (I'm voting for the latter.).

So, we get out here, and there is absolutely -no- pocky. To set the record straight, I am not obsessed, I just like my candy.

And so begins "Monty Python and the Celestial Candy." First stop: Worlds Market; no pocky, but they do have some tasty stuff called yan yan. I think it's from Singapore. Stop two: Shop 'n Save; I shouldn't have even bothered. Their only Japanese food is a mini package of odon. Attempt three: This time I asked my parents politely if I could order several cases of this heavenly sweet from the internet. Not happening.
By this time, I had just about given up. In walks the Homecoming dance. What does that have to do with anything, you ask. Everything. You see, I didn't go to my own homecoming, so I figured, why not see all my old friends at theirs? The night before I go to Westfield (big mall) to buy a dress (I didn't own any, to this day I only have that one) with my friend from college. On the way out, we take trip by Suncoast, you know, the movie store that sells manga, DVD's, some otaku stuff, etc.

Well, lo and behold, the one place that has it, is a video store! THe search was over. Now if only I could work there... ^_^

Anyway, now I have pocky AND yan yan (which is pretty good). All is right in the world.

You are now free to go about your normal lives.
