Here's a video of my youngest nephew's band, Oxford Farm Report. He's playing lead guitar and singing lead vocals. Not exactly my cup of tea, but hey, he's putting it out there.

Here also is a promo proof of Melissa for that new dance troupe has become a part of.
A dance video will be released soon. I'll be sure to post that too.
Melissa posted this on her Facebook. I think it's
cute.
I feel certain that they both got their creativity/performance skills from my dad.
JOHN 'PETE' CONLEY, LEXINGTON MUSICIAN, DIES AT 57 Jennifer Hewlett Herald-Leader staff writer John E. "Pete" Conley, a popular local musician and president of the Lexington Musicians Association, died of cancer Sunday at Central Baptist Hospital. He was 57. His musical career included performances at events ranging from political rallies for presidential candidates to the local Fourth of July festival. He headed the Pete Conley Orchestra and the Pete Conley Dixieland Band. He was primarily a trumpeter, but could play many instruments. Mr. Conley also wrote and arranged several pieces, including Three Early Sacred Pieces for Brass Quartet, Suite for Orchestra, and Prelude and Tripartite. Mr. Conley became interested in music while growing up in his native Prestonsburg. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in music composition from the University of Kentucky and had studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He performed with the Air Force Band while stationed in Alaska during the 1950s. For several years he was director of Lexington's Oleika Shrine Temple band and was first trumpet in the band at his death. "I admired him very much," said John Bryden, who plays flute with the Oleika band. Mr. Conley, he said, was a "fine all-around musician" who surprised him with things he had learned about music. "He was great at telling jokes, the way he told them. I could tell the same joke and it wouldn't go over." Former presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford and politician John Connally of Texas were among the notables for whom Mr. Conley had performed. Mr. Conley was a member of the American Federation of Musicians and the Robert M. Sirkle Masonic Lodge. He also was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Wells Conley; two daughters, Gegie Lynn Harbison of Lexington and Karen Elizabeth Conley of Philadelphia; two brothers; two sisters; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at W.R. Milward Mortuary -- Southland. There will be no visitation. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Hopefully we'll be able to see both Melissa and Joey soon. Our flights are booked for our visit back to the States. We'll be leaving on Sept. 17 and will return on Oct. 5. We would have planned a longer stay, but while Kurt's brother Luc will be babysitting Misha and Maggie, they dont really know him. I'll be so worried about them missing us. Misha is so old, and Maggie is such a baby, our absence will be quite stressful for them both.
Coming up: Tracy Chapman's concert is THIS FRIDAY!
*glee* I hope everyone is doing well. I'll catch up on your entries after a quick nap.
