The Goldstone Report

What is everyone's take on the Goldstone Report? For those that have a take, have you read it? What are your specific complaints or complements? How do you think the Israeli Government should be handling it or could handle it better?

My take: While I certainly can get behind the decision to vote against accepting it in the general assembly, as its "even-handed" tone that is so popular in UN circles contains a de facto implication of moral equivalency, I think its recommendations should be taken seriously. In other words, the Israeli government should act as though they had accepted the sections of the report directed at Israel and order the IDF investigations unit and the Attorney General's office to initiate a detailed investigation into the alleged incidents. If the parties involved are indeed innocent of wrongdoing, they would do well, particularly by their advocates abroad, to explain in detail why and get a thorough account of what happened as they did with the Rachel Corrie incident.
