Netanyahu: Non-recognition of Israel as Jewish State obstacle to peace

Sep 23, 2009 09:32

In reading today's YNET I found this article that I just don't understand. It starts:

The Palestinians' refusal to recognize Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state remains the biggest obstacle to peace, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on the heels of Tuesday's meeting in New York with US President Barack Obama and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.  (www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3780593,00.html)

Looking at the CIA World fact book I find:
Arab Republic of Egypt
  • Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
  • Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
  • Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
  • Islamic Republic of Iran
  • Islamic Republic of Mauritania
  • Islamic Republic of Pakistan
  • Sultanate of Oman
  • United Arab Emirates

But not one Jewish state - time for the Kensett to fix this once and for all.

If Israel will not define its self as the Jewish State how can we expect others to do so?
