so, i don't have anything all that interesting to say, i just felt like updating because i don't want to review film terms or practice chinese. so lucky you.
i'm really tired. i have not been sleeping well at ALL. it's been taking me an hour to go to sleep, i keep waking up, when i'm asleep i feel like i'm awake... ugh, i just can't turn off my brain and relax. it's AWFUL. i've tried relaxing, breathing, listening to soothing ravi shankar, but alas, when it's nighttime i just want it to be over so i don't have to worry about sleeping.
emily and i went out with rebecca and her roommate, ann, on saturday. we went out for awesome indian food, and then went and saw 'cache.' oh my god, seriously, it was SO GOOD. the only other movie that left me thinking like that was 'match point.' and in 'cache,' there was one part that caused me to (i am neither making this up nor exaggerating) audibly gasp and stare agape at the screen for at least a solid 60 seconds. the rest of the people in the theater were also doing this, so it wasn't some weird ellis moment. seriously, go see this film. it is just incredible.
fridays i have no classes, so i went in to boston alone and walked around. it was pretty uneventful. i walked around a mall, around the stores, had some way too salty hummus for dinner... but the highlight of that trip is that i found a trader joe's! that made me SO incredibly happy. i bought food and drink and tea... wouldh have bought the stuff i really wanted, but alas it requires either refrigeration of freezing, which would doubtfully keep on a 40+ minute bus ride back to campus.
the sunday new york times crossword is tricky this week, but i'm making progress. i feel so smart. i'm hoping that someday soon i will solve an entire puzzle instead of just most of it.
this weekend was really nice- like 50. it was great. and of course tomorrow is supposed to have a high of 37. joy. i think i'll be breakin out the long underwear for that one.
anyway, other than that, classes are good, food is the same, emily is fun (we're so like an old married couple, except, you know, not), and i have stuff that i'm doing, but i still feel a little boxed-in. hopefully i can change that.
drop me a line. let me know what's up.
and congrats to jake for graduating to the 'no longer a teenager' group. up next: rachel.
