Powerups to the little guy!
*sighs*
Is it just me, or do I have some sort of affinity with Krillin, the little dude from Dragon Ball Z?
About a year and a half ago, I was playing a DBZ fighter arcade game at Fry's and I randomly picked Goku as my main adventure guy, and Krillin as a backup. I ran around and collected a bunch of powerups as Goku, but when the time came to fight the invading Sayans, I got my butt beat. Badly.
So Krillin my spare rolls out, and he's a little guy, bald, and about half the size of Goku.
I'm like ... *sweatdrop*.
I play anyway, and to my surprise, I tickle all the invading sayans to death, the ones my big bad powered up Goku couldn't touch.
O_o
I just got through playing a round of another Dragon Ball Z fighter on my Genesis emulator, called Bu Yu Retsuden.
Again, at the beginning, I pick some big, mean looking guys like Cell, and Vegita (I think). Again, I get my butt beat within one round of sparring.
I think "awww, what the hell" and pick Krillin again.
Guess what? I'm able to go through all eight of his story line fights without losing once.
I just jump around, and throw a kick occasionally. Once or twice I tried throwing a guy, but he just laughed it off and landed on his feet without taking damage.
Lucky for me, also the CPU can't aim. For example, the boss Krillin fights, Android 18, has some big powerful energy attacks. But with me jumping around so much, she throws them while I'm jumping over her head and while she's drained of energy, I kick her in the rear for about 1/20 of her health bar.
As you can imagine, with three full health bars to drain on an opponent, these tickle fests usually take 5 minutes a piece.
I think its very funny that a little squirt of a guy can lay the smack down on guys literally 3 times his size, in bite sized installments, of course. (ROFL)
