Life Update

I know, I haven't been around a lot, I hope to change that as the semester begins.

Let's see what has been going on with me.

Well, my summer has been pretty quiet, mostly sitting at home and relaxing, enjoying my free time. I helped my dad repaint the roof before the monsoon season, so having a roof that doesn't leak anymore is great.

I have a pretty light schedule of classes this semester, but on the other hand I'll be doing a lot of work for my Honors Thesis project. I'm doing it in Psychology, in psycholinguistics, which is the study of how people understand and process language. I'll be doing this really cool experiment where I flash a bunch of words at people on a computer screen and see how long it takes them to hit a button to react to those words.

Alright, it's not that glamorous, really. But it's an interesting project, and hopefully it helps unlock some of the mysteries of the human mind. *Keeps his fingers crossed* Even if it doesn't, it's still a project and I'll still get credit for it, I hope.

I've been meeting a lot with my Thesis mentor in this last month before the semester began, and I'll keep meeting with him a lot. It's going to be pretty labor intensive... our preliminary estimate says I'll need to run at least 400 people. @.@ *dies*

But we have the pool of incoming PSY 101 freshman, so I should be alright. It does look a bit daunting, though.

Also, I get to fill out and submit my grad school applications. The one I want the most is this new school of Bio Medical Informatics that ASU is opening in Downtown Phoenix. It looks really sweet, it combines computers and medicine and psychology and statistics, all things I'm interested in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I do get in.

That's pretty much it for now, I'm looking forward to a fun and productive semester.
