Things that make you wince in sympathy
I just received, at my day-job address, a small padded envelope from a company I had never heard of. Inside, I found exactly two things:
1) A large gold-colored skeleton key, and
2) A piece of cardboard printed only with a URL.
The URL is especially intriguing as it incorporates my name as the entirety of the path part. Ordinarily, I don't give in to advertising manipulation, but this truly had me interested. So I typed in the URL, and waited...
And waited...
And waited...
And finally the request timed out. Same result on each of two subsequent tries.
Somewhere, a marketing team is weeping. And quite possibly, a webmaster is losing his or her job.
