Lonely as a cloud

Originally uploaded by craigdberry. This photograph shows an orographic cloud hovering over a peak in the southern Sierras, as seen from my airplane seat on the way from Las Vegas to San Jose. I took this using the full 4x zoom of my new camera; I was astonished to discover that you can easily see individual trees in the resulting image, despite shooting from a moving plane 30,000 feet up, and through a slightly dirty multi-pane window.
