Romanes eunt domus
I finished Silverberg's Roma Eterna, which I reviewed
at just past the halfway point a few days ago. My conclusions from that
review stand, only more so. I could go on at greater length, but
fortunately I stumbled across this review,
with which I agree entirely. Still, any dedicated fans of ancient Rome
or of alternate history stories among my readers might want to pick it
up. (And, to be fair to Silverberg, there was one scene that sent
chills down my spine; I'm glad I read the book just for that exquisite
moment. If only there had been more of them!)
