My Best Friend's Wedding

Attending and participating in the celebrations revolving around Katie's wedding was a beautiful experience. And, as luck would have it, I wasn't the only Menwith-ite on the guest list. I was reminded again of the special friendship Katie and I shared in high school, and still do to a point. I had some quality jammin' and hang time with Dusty. And I got to spend some time hanging and talking with Sarah, strengthening a bond that didn't even exist until we had graduated.
My personality type and feelings about how much the military had screwed me over by sending me to England being what they were, I didn't start to appreciate my opportunities at Menwith until a sizable chunk of my time there had already gone by; really, I didn't start to spend time with anyone socially aside from Katie and Alex until there were mere months left in high school. As a result, even though I would've considered myself good friends with most of the people in my class, I just don't have a lot of personal history with a lot of them aside from school stuff. Which is okay, I mean it's kind of moot now anyway. Just little regrets, I guess; Sarah was saying how it would've been cool if we'd all hung out more in high school.
Anyhow, I just really feel like it's put a lot of what I do with my life in perspective. Between Wednesday's tragic collision and Katie's wedding, I feel like (and this sounds really cliche, but oh well) I need to not waste what time I've got. 'Cuz, y'know, you only live once. And all that. I really dreaded coming back to Lubbock, though... New York was just so beautiful and I feel like I didn't get nearly enough time to spend with my old friends... coming back to the old dust plains after a full day of airplane hopping was just a little depressing. I'm going to try and save up enough this school year so that at some point I can go do some legitimate traveling, I'm so sick of Texas...
Anyway, I had a really really good weekend.
okay interjection here - I'm talking with Sarah (not '01 Sarah, little Sarah) and apparently she went to beauty school and now she's working as an escort...wow...so much crazy stuff
