I went and saw Serenity.....
snicker. I couldn't resist.
I saw this in Taskal's entry - the same thing happened at the theater I was in also.
The theater had an ad for the upcoming movie Elizabethtown, including a contest offering an all-expense paid trip to Elizabethtown, Kentucky, where the movie takes place, and much of it was filmed. A giggle swept the theater at this point, seeing as how Elizabethtown (or, as we who come from there call it, "E-town") is only about an hour away from here.
Serenity was good. I wasn't sure if it was the same doctor as from the TV show - sometimes it felt like it was, sometimes it didn't. It will be...interesting...if they decide to do sequels. I actually had a hunch regarding the plot and was slightly off. Wrong planet though. I wont say more, for fear of spoiling the movie for others.
The theater was fairly full for a 9:50 showing. I kinda thought of Firefly/Serenity as a cultish thing - apparentlyit was a bit more mainstream. Go figure.
Went to the St James Art Fair. Dropped off by Foxwit, before he had to go to work. Caught the #4 bus home. Lots of pretty pretty art. Vastly overpriced art too. Got a barette for $18 - another feather one. I liked mine from last year, and it held up really well. Looked at all the dyed silks and tie dies. Wanted a few pictures. Desperately wanted one of the Rees Harps. I'd even take a harpsickle. Sigh. I reall want a harp. I love their music and have wanted to learn for a very long time.
Went wandering all around, hand in hand with Nezmaster and Glamkit. It was a happy Nezmaster sandwich, except for all the people. He doesn't like being closed in. No roses left at the radio station again - sigh. Oh well.
It's their anniversary weekend, so I'm trying to let them have time together, though I was wanted with them at this time.
Wandered through the UnFaire at Mag Bar and the flea market at the Bethlehem church. They have cheaper food, and were pretty good. The banana nut cake was excellent.
I have a small headache. I took some nyquil - it seems to be helping a little. Yay.
Oh yeah - went to the zoo on Thursday with Nezmaster. Got a few pictures - my new icon is one with the lorikeets. This guy is a bit mean - he did pinch my neck with his bear and pecked at my clothes. However, on the other hand, when shooed off, he landed on another person and sliced on them instead (slice = birdie poo). So not all that bad. I have a few cool new pics. The animals seemed more alert than usual - the wolf and the jaguar were near the fence, which is usually rare when I am there. Lots of kids, though we did manage to avoid most of them. A couple of the gorillas were outside too. It looked like they were setting up for Halloween, since they had a fake pirate ship and castle-looking set.
