More Origins
We headed out to Origins on Wednesday, with astral_wanderer and Agnar(?) after a few false starts. Ie I left papers at home, we didn't have enough ice, but minor stuff. We go through the badge stuff, where Astral and Agnar end up volunteering, and apparently are geting a lot of swag for doing so. I might consider doing the same next year.
I spent most of my time in the Labs, or in the huckster's area. I was invited, by Silaria to the furfests up in that area, as well as by merseine0613. I assume, though might not be correct, that I still have a Darkover invitation.
One of my regrets is that I wanted to learn to dance from a friend, heptadecagram. I never got a chance to ask him, since we were always seeming to be running around. I want to learn to ballroom dance someday. He got me interested in dancing last year. I would have loved to see him in an Industrial setting. The outfit he wore Saturday (which I lack a picture for, unfortunately) would have been fun to watch. I've been dancing a bit at MSL here, and I'm trying to get better.
One of the neat things, coming back, was the fireworks. Except for the brief scare coming out a tunnel - hearing explosions - it was really cool. Everywhere you looked, after 9, fireworks were to the right or left of the interstates. We even saw some coming into here, as we pulled up, a bit after 11 PM. I love fireworks, and hopefully will see some tonight.
I had a good Origins. I got lots and lots of hugs, had great times talking to everyone, and very few negative ones- barring the patience issues I had to deal with. Ie me patient, others much less so.
I hated War of the Worlds. They didn't have to make it a gore-fest. And I was disappointed that none of the main cast died. We saw it the first night, after eating at the Mongolian place (yummy!). Most food was North Market. Anyway, I dunno. I just wish they had done things different for the movie. And I don't really need to see blood spurting and gore over everything on the planet. I don't need the nightmares.
I still have my cross stitch to finish. I brought it home. I love the craft part of the Labs. It's a lot of fun to make stuff, and I really like the arts. I wish I could have made a mobile this year, but I wasn't around then, I guess. I also didn't have much room.
I sprnt time with nezmaster whenever I could. Mostly eating. He collapsed upon entering the room, and was immediately incoherent. I spent some time with foxwit too. He was usually larping or in the middle of games. He did win the Survivor LARP though. The prize system seemed a bit flawed though. As you left, you got to pick a prize, which to me is backwards. They should have had a prize pickup after the LARP or a place the next day. This would have ensured the winners didn't have the least liked prizes.
I just wished foxwit had more fun. It seemed he was always upset. I love him dearly, but I'm not here just to entertain.
My costumes were:
Wednesday: cat ears and the "take me home, I love you" shirt. Unfortunately I lost an ear later. I'll make new ones.
Thursday: demoness/devil bunny- Black wings, leather corset, zipper pants and boots. Zippers showing the fishnets beneath. Black ears.
Friday: Gypsy - green and black corset, blue and yellow patchwork skirt, sandals. Yellow ears, with a Flower wrapped around one.
Saturday: Wood nymph/jackalope - Blue swirled antlers, new blue corset/cincher, long white chemise with silver and black trim on sleeves, black skirt, boots. Ears were pale green, with flower wrapped around one.
Sunday: cabbit - "I will not be naughty" top, laced blue jeans, platform sandals, black scarf tail. Ears were yellow, with a new Flower (purple) Glowy rabbit necklace.
I also had my new labcoat with me. Buttons were:
Lab Rabbit picture, Rowr, If I follow you home, will you keep me?, Would you like to play a game?, Aquarius Fire, I <3 >1, Happiness is sleeping in the middle (plagerized from heptadecagram), Free Hugs given Here, Cats are like Potato chips - you cannot have just one, Premises protected by an attack Gazeebo,and claw claw bite.
