No, not the fish.
I ended up getting one of the Beta keys for the new MMORPG Rift. My supervisor was praising what he saw, and, of course, I was curious. The past 2 days I was up to 4am, playing after work, and managed to get my Warden/Druid/Purifier up to 14th level.
Last night was the last night of the current beta group. I picked up snacks, when I got out a little early from work - hummus, minidanishes, Doritos and Mt Dew (those last 2 seemed traditional, somehow).

http://www.zam.com/giveaways/rift.html where you can get keys - you do have to create a free ZAM account though
Anyway, I came home from work and ended up playing until 9:13 am. Yes, AM - the sun was up.
My stopping point? Desi came in, with huge wide eyes, and sat in Bruce's chair (he went to bed about and hour or so earlier - correction 7am). He looked up at me with the Puss in Boots eyes and meowed. Pitifully. Like "Mom? Why aren't you in bed? You were supposed to go to bed hours ago! I can't sleep with you out here!"
Game called for cat cuteness. And the Beta ended 10am pst for this Beta anyway, but... cat cuteness.
I see why these can be addictive. I like the graphics. The random Rifts that open once you get past the beginning stages are neat, and can affect gameplay - ie. ignore them at your own risk. You might say "I don't believe in the Rift, but the Rift believes in you"
No, this has no association in any way to Rifts, the Palladium game, just in case you were wondering.
It was a lot of fun. I like the Warden class - the healing rains are cool. I was Nomnomya, with my Faerie pet Yeti (druid pet) on the Byriel server. I was also Guardian instead of Defiant.
